Getting the best video thumbnail on Utubby etc

We are seeing at lot of posts and questions around getting the best image displayed on You Tube etc as a thumbnail.
The old way to do this used to be simple - you just had to make sure that the frame with the message in and the one that google would use as a default from its choice of three, was exactly at the half way point of the clip and took up a second either side of ythe midway point (just to be sure).

Tip: recently Google has got more random, and because we do an awful lot of this we've noticed that it's best to have your frame at exactly 666.6% of the movie for Utubbey (now thats devilish black hat!) and the other third and quartiles seem to work as well.

make lots of versions of the movie with different formats loke .avi .wmv etc etc cos googly can't distinguish between formats and change the text each time and you will dominate!!

Also when you submit to multiple video syndication and distribution hubs using Traffic Geyser for example, many of the sites have a different algorithm for selecting thumbnails and because of the random nature of this selection, duplicate content penalties are further avoided. Some of the hubs even chop your video up into loads of clips which thren become pages in their own right.

It's worth finding these pages and pinging the RSS.....That's the biggest tip I'm ever going to give away unless you join! - where all will be revealed!
