Advanced Blogging And Why I Use Blogger - The Rasputin Effect

Now being a professional blogger carries with it some sort of responsibility to your readers.
No I don't mean You Lot, the people who read these ramblings are either Enlightened, Inquisitive or Insane.... So Which one are You?

What I meant was in my professional blogging capacity, mostly in the world of Insurance and Finance, if you want to be top of Google for your chosen blog keyword (check out insurance blog) you not only have to provide original quality content on a regular basis, but you also have to act the part, and more importantly look the part, to attract the attentions of other professional bloggers who collectively could improve your profile.(through links!)

Now I always use Blogger for blogging and in a moment I will tell you exactly why and explain what I call the 'Rasputin Effect', which is the sole reason that I would always chose this platform over a more functional alternative such as Wordpress.

However using Blogger as a platform does have it's downsides, and I'm not talking about the lack of bolt-ons for which Wordpress has a plethora; there are enough basic functional widgets available on Blogger for all but the most socially active.

I also disagree that a Wordpress site is better for SEO.
If you understand even basic HTML you can edit a Blogger template for on page SEO. Wisely using hyperlinks and keywords in the Blogger structural setup will also optimise your blog for SE ranking advantage.
It may be easier to SEO a blog in Wordpress but truth is it is not better!

No, the biggest downside is this.....
When I get invites from other top blogging professional for links, posts requests etc etc....... I always feel that my Blogger blog is rather like turning up for a business meeting in the City of London, having just rolled out of the surf on Perranporth beach or getting invited to a 'Black Tie Do' in the Hamptons with BO in attendance and turning up in a yellow 'gypsy' cab and in a pair of old rippped Levi's....

Lets face it Blogger ain't 'pretty'.

So why do I use it?

THE RASPUTIN EFFECT

For those of you who don't know their history I suggest you read about Rasputin on Wiki.
For those of you who do, you'd agree that Rasputin was a scruffy b**tard too!

Rasputin knew how to play the System!

So now you know the history you will see that Google is the Tsar, Blogger is the Tsarina and your scruffy Blogger blog is Rasputin.
You have the full attention of the Tsarina and The Tsar who likes to rewards his loyal subjects in the rankings! This is a competitive advantage.

But didn't Rasputin end up dead in the River Neva?
Don't Blogger blogs get zapped?

Yes and Yes!

But it took a lot to kill Rasputin and even after the cyanide, .33's, the knifings and the beatings and being chucked into -50 degrees of flowing water, some say....

He still had air in his lungs....

The solution to the threat of falling out at Court is found by holding your blog on it's own generic domain, preferbly of the most logical keyword that describes it's contents. This way you control the content distribution and can build up link love for the domain, whilst at the same time benefiting from all the built in distribution elements that come with Blogger to the Google court - such as Feedburner for example!

Remember though - It was also the social media mob who finally killed the Tsar and his family in Екатеринбу́рг and were also behind the scenes in the demise of Rasputin a year earlier.

To be Rasputin and hold such a high authority at Court, you do need to produce QUALITY! on a regular basis, avoid the threats and maybe use a little 'Magick'.

This is the bottom line, however it is served up!

The Dawn of the Marketron - The New Media Model Army of Expert Authority

Authors and Authority - think about that connection for a moment!

Cyberteers, Marketrons call them what you want!

They are out there and this is no episode of Dr Who or The X-Files

My last post about aliases got me thinking.

Probably a third of the authors, experts, and web personalities are made up personas. Yep they don't exist!

My take on it is this.

The art of the Internet Marketer is to promote websites to positions of authority.
One quite accepted method of doing this is to create information silos.

Another quick method is to promote yourself into a position of authority for a particular subject (set of keywords!).

The problem is this. Information and knowledge is 'silo'd as well and an expert in his field is just that - in his field!

To get around this it is necessary to create multiple personas.
In other words experteeism is silo'd!

here's how you do it

Get a name that hasn't been taken at Twitter, Facebook, Myspace etc etc - Grab those web 2.0 properties.
Invent a personal profile and stick to it.
Invent a glossy career in your chosen profession
List all your keywords as interests
Get a picture of yourself or a mate or someone from the public who is not famous and looks like they might be an expert in that field!

Write articles and post away in the buzz belt to your hearts content. Post RSS feeds from all your content and twitter etc to a personal blog and web 2.0 properties. Bookmark and ping all your posts and tweets!

Soon your new marketron will be the worlds leading expert in his field. Yummy yummy keyword rich link juice will be at your disposal!!

What is Search Engine Buzz? - Links to Infinity and Beyond

Buzz - Light Years Ahead!

OR

How to create links to Infinity and Beyond

Internet Marketing is all about creating buzz! Hive Noise! Becoming the talk of the town is the ultimate goal of The System!
Buzz is ongoing......
Buzz is about continuity, as soon as the noise stops so does the publicity!

Web 2.0 is surrounded by something I call the 'buzz belt'

It consists predominantly of places to make noise.

In particular noise with embedded backlinks.

A lot of people might consider buzz as spam or black hat - to those I say, it's what Google Wants, It's what everone else is doing, If you don't you are dead in the water, getting ranked these days IS about he who can shout the loudest and have the most backlinks - Forget what any of these so called marketing Gurus try tell you otherwise ! -

Getting high ranks on Google is partly, perhaps even largely, about getting keyword rich links through continual self promotion - full stop period...

Buzz belt

1. Twitter - Global real time noise!
2. Blogs - Personal noise! Blogger blogs are the ultimate tool for making noise in the Buzz belt!
3. Social Bookmarking - Like Dog posting - Doing what dogs like to do on lamp posts!
4. Commenting - Making more noise all over the place, either personal or informational
5. Social Network Comments - Niche and personal noise

All web 2.0 properties will create a certain amount of buzz, but some more than others. For example I don't consider articles or PR releases etc to be part of the buzz belt, these properties are more valuable as viral static high ranking long term links.

Buzz needs to be done on an ongoing continual basis, preferably without spikes, although these will inevitably occur when you release content. Buzz content can re-used and repackaged for extra link juice and more buzz squeezed out of the content even long after the first noise has gone quiet!

Death of the Newspaper - Arise Sir RSS - The Birth of Peoples Journalism

In case you haven't noticed there's not so much rubbish on your doormat these days!
Thanks to the green revolution of paper free news - The Internet! - our letterboxes are far less full of spam and junk, whether they are local FreeAds style newspapers or national celebrity milking rags, like the British Gutterpress.

Hurrah! Bye bye bad old media with your introverted political claptrap and stories about nobodies being outed for doing the things that 'everyone' does! ....

Hello world!

Yep! in case you haven't noticed - and there are many 'local' niche papers that will survive the current ' transformation' in information (news) delivery...

The old 'bastions' of news, those deciders of what we want to hear! the free press, the fourth estate - are going bust!

Bye Bye! the death of another hierarchical structure should not be mourned! it is a move towards wisdom of crowds! More better diversified information of size!

Here's an interesting view from Two old farts who have lost their Industry - The old press - journalism

Bow down all ye and gaze upon the New News of the World in AWE - Shock and AWE!

RSS will provide people with their choice of news from their trusted authorities.

Similarly RSS will be used to construct websites of authority and distribute - syndicate to be more precise, content to other hubs worldwide!

RSS is the lifeblood of content driven marketing and the Social Web!

Now what's the fuss about those old 33rpm's

Watching Googles SERPs being manipulated - Blog Spam and how to do it properly

We don't teach you these trick's here, well we do actually, but what we don't do is advocate them for long term SERP success at Google and definitely not for creating an optimized network structure.....however these tactics will bring you short term success and if the keyword is rich enough - lots of filthy lucre.

You do have to spend quite a bit of money upfront on Indian SEO services though, but if you do it right and more importantly in the right places, then the riches can be milked from the traffic before you get whacked by Google....even better if you let someone else do all the work (like the Indians), but we'll talk about that later.....

So what am I talking about?

In a couple of words - Web 2.0 comment spam! Blog Link Spam!

why blog links are spam

I'm talking about paying lots of Indians (under the pathetic guise of SEO services) to go and make hundreds or thousands of comments on blogs (and other social media websites) that allow you to, all over the world, thus building up authority via the wisdom of crowds that Googles ranking algo relies upon.

More explicitly the wisdom of the crowds that is determined through one way links from authority sites using Kansky's algorithm of nodal authority.

So who is doing this and where is it working?

(Did I detect squirms from many of our readers? - don't worry its not you we're outing today!)

Unless you are Australian! (Cmon chaps the Ashes is starting isn't it!!!)

I'm going to show you an example of who is doing this, how it works and also how to take advantage of someone elses spam!

Right, one of first things we teach here at The System is to keep an eye on your keywords, particularly the SERPs for your targetted keywords.
Pay particular attention to who else is in the market - your competition - who are they? why are they there? where are they getting their links from?

So when we started to see an AUSTRALIAN Website shooting up the rankings for a very competitive keyword - we want to know WHY?

More importantly we want to confirm our suspicions, because we remembered the cheeky POMS had spammed our blogs a few weeks before!
(By the ways it's you Australians that are POHM'S - Prisoners Of Her Majesty)

So who are we talking about- well a website that has been giving Moneysupermarket.com a run for it's money (on SEO services).....

Ratedetective.com.au!

Check out their backlinks on Yahoo.com Spam and drill down for links to a particular product that they have been spamming like Income Protection

Visit the blogs and you will see that they have made lots of posts using Indian SEO services, using the keyword Income protection thus benefiting from the name/site link alllowed on most blogs.
They've mostly signed up as a user, which takes a minute, to take advantage of the keyword user name.

Cheeky Aussie gits - it's not the way to do things long term and if you don't keep the buzz up it will soon drop off - keep an eye of the sites rankings in Google!

Here's a link for Income protection as they, and a few other Choice Australians I could mention, seem to be hitting it as hard as Moneysupermarket do!

TIP - Take advantage of all those millions of SEO Indians hard work in finding these FFA links and post away to your hearts content - if you can't beat them - join them

It's the Wisdom of Crowds!

SO HERE'S HOW TO GET LINKS PROPERLY WITHOUT PENALTY

Now here's how to do it using optimized networks constructed of RSS! (don't bother to click the link - it's a recursive one to make sure I still rank No.1 for that term when people start to copy my ideas!

Think RSS! it satisfies the 4 necessities demanded by the wisdom of the crowds!

RSS is the wisdom of the crowd - you dont PUSH it on people - People CHOOSE it!

RSS is the solution!

Optimised Network Structures

Heres more proof of my system!

ten minutes ago I changed the header on the blog to include the keyword connector Optimized Network Structures and did a little jiggery pokery with the link flow. I made not offsite links at all.

Within 8 minutes of posting the mention of Optimised Network Structures for the first time I'm no 8 and 9 on google out of 4mill+ - the proof is in the eating!

If you want to whisper in Googles Ear you have to get close to the Beast. Sorry Wordpress fanatics, your utility is admirable but we are talking 'optimized network structures'. Which is why I use Blogger!

Social Media and Search Engine Marketing - The Truth Revealed!

Web 2.0 Property GoldRush - Grab your keywords now - before its too late!

There's a lot of disinformation, half lies and half truths, misinformation and bull out there about Social Media and SEO, SEM and Google.

So lets dispel it and put it to bed and let the theorists continue to argue until they are blue in the face about 'whether Myspace is dead and ehats the point of advertising on Facebook etc etc etc..................

There's a lot of blogs and posts on this subject with all sorts of 'wrapped up' high brow bull about social media sites and even more about social networking, yet very few will tell you the only truth there is, and you need to act upon this fact:

Google gives it's highest authority to links from social media sites. It is possible indeed it is the only way to dominate Google SERPS - by getting as many backlinks as possible from social media sites.

Google want's to be the BUZZ

So where does it go to look for the buzzz things - social media sites!

Social is a broad definition and social media encompasses a broad church of social media sites however it can be broken down as follows.

What is a social media site?

At the highest level a social media website is one that allows a user group to interact with the website and one another by posting comments or rich media in community accessible web space. Examples of social media sites are Web communities such as Facebook, blogs, forums, video platforms, free web hosting space and hubs, article libraries, PR communities

What is Social Networking
Social networking is the act of growing user groups or communities around a particular niche, topic, webpage, blog, video etc. and involves interacting with users of a like mind.

These user groups by definition have variable attributes that allow targetted direct marketing techniques never seen before!!

The only way to get high rankings in Google today is to own as much web 2.0 or social media property for your niche market as you can get your hands on.

For example go to (Google) You Tube (Sorry) and register accounts for all your niche keywords. So if your niche was Blogging register with the username BlogTips and you become http://www.youtube.com/blogtips

Do this on as many social media platforms as you can lay your hands on and you can shut out the opposition before they realise it has happened! for starters try youtube, facebook, myspace, hubvpages, wetpaint, blogger, the list is endless ......

Too late then for the competition!

Just like the goldrush for registering generic domain names - getting hold of all the top performing web 2.0 properties with your keywords is going to prove to be priceless!

Matt Cutts - Googles Mouth or Google's Earpiece?

So who the hell is Matt Cutts? I hear the newbies ask.

Well he's the self proclaimed mouthpiece for Google - it appears.

Does he work for Google?
This used to be a question on all the blogs and forums five or so years ago.
By the look of the fact he's posting on the Google YouTube webpage these days it looks like he does, and whoever he works for he's certainly got better at YouTube videos over the years since he first started putting out Google expectations of webmaster behaviour via the site and his weblog, with his pussies on his rather larger lap!

One thing concerns me though looking at the history of his youtube offerings, is the shabby productions.
Maybe that's cool in California or Florida or wherever - still are they really up to the sort of production you'd expect from Google...hmm

Here's a very useful recent example

MATT CUTTS ON MAXIMISING & FUNNELLING DOMAIN NAME PAGE RANK

So what do we know about him.

Years ago we believe he used to post on all the forums as Googleboy and none of the SEO community of the day knew who he was for a short while. He was a bit of a lurker around the Webmaster forums, learning what the drivers of the search engine algos were, that is, the SEO community of the days, were up to.

Listening to, funnily enough 'the buzz' that Google is shouting about as being so important in the current marketing effort.
Once he was outed he started his blog and posting lots of videos and hungry webmasters crawled over his every word.
He then became the self proclaimed spam site killer and webmaster witchfinder general.

These days he's a lot thinner and more open about the way google works. He advises you to sign up to googles webmaster tools and analytics.

Be careful how you use Google Webtools and Analytics - especially is you are practising multilevel Social Media marketing.

Google used to vehemently state that the Adsense / Adwords data was seperate from the SERPS algo data and in no way influenced the SERPS

Who are they trying to kid? you've only got to look at a term such as car insurance and wonder why the sites that dominate page one are where they are? It's because the have the largest ADWORDS spend!!
Apply this to you giving them info about your site.
Well for one thing it tells them that you are engaged in SEO - is that a good thing?

Anyway back to Cutts. He's no great marketing guru but he's a good sounding board as to what Google thinks important and where they are taking measures - which if you are savvy you can exploit.

Is Matt Cutts For real - yeah sort of, you should for instance take a very good look at the way he talks about the LINK element in the above video.

Tip - Many top ranking sites are using a version of this to point search engines to their rss or blog pages as an alternative homepage and effectively getting their tired old website listed as a blog!

But to us he has always been just a ploy to leverage feedback from the real gurus, to make sure that Googles control mechanisms are functioning in the right areas and the cleverer webmasters, checked back.

Generic Domains are vital for Search Engine Marketing

It's vital that you invest in a generic domain name or two as part of your internet marketing arsenal. Without doubt the keywords in the URL count in all the SE's algorithms, but those with keywords nearer the root, i.e the url or domain name itself will see much better results in the SERPS.

You only have to search on any keyword to see that the majority of high ranking sites that are not well known brands, are generic domain names.

Why?

Because they are what they say they are (usually) and therefore the content can be relied upon enough for further investigation and ranking.

Because someone or another has gone out of their way to register the keyword before anyone else, they gain a natural advantage with the SE's.

Generic domain names are also investment properties with aged domains the most sought after as they hold more standing with the search engines.

If you are going to blog, it is important that you host the site on your own preferably generic domain, which allows you choice of platform and independence, control of your own content, and a website which is then ringfenced from any changes to the blog host.

Blogging - ultimate free backlinks

Blog yourself millions of pounds and dollars

make millions blogging

In order to obtain high SERPS it is an essential part of any internet marketing strategy to have Blogging central to the linking structure.

Why Blog?

1. Google loves blogs - it loves them so much it bought Blogger.
2. blogs and videos are the hottest links for 2009 - Google has said as much in its blog, and Google people like Matt Cutts are always espousing its necessity as part of a marketing mix.

Search results are beginning to reflect user patterns, and blogs are a good example of what google wants to see in the universal search results that make up a personalised desktop.

3. Blogs tend to reflect some authority on a subject which is googles ultimate mission of combining and setting authority! - see how it respects the results from DMOZ (which underlies the google directory) and Wikipedia (which is hand edited and features prominently in all search results of fact.

Blogging can be used to inflate, quite legally and without getting penalised (if you do it the right way) search engine ranking by creating hundreds or thousands of backlnks to your site, through syndication and comment trackbacks.

A network of blogs should be part of your marketing Arsenal in creating 'Buzz' , googles hot term for social media marketing in 2009.

Where Do I start?

The System recommends you invest your time and effort in learning from a guru in this area. Rob Benwell has made millions from blogging and his ebook 'blogging to the bank' has sold thousands of copies worldwide - to those Internet marketeeers in the know.

He's just released version 3.0 which for twenty bucks, quid or so will pay you back before you've even started on your second blog!

Well go through some of the more salient points of Rob's system in a review here soon, however we'd advise you to invest in 'Blogging to the Bank' immediately

if you want to stand any chance at all in the highly competitive internet marketing game.
