Collective Collaboration - A Cyber Crime?

The Third Commandment from Google written in stone on the tablet of Quality Guidelines is:

Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.

In plain english this literally means if you link or receive links from another website with the intent to increase your nodal magnitude what Google calls Pagerank - then you will be penalised !

Which is absolutely ludicrous because every webpage and website in the world engages in this act of defiance simply by linking.
Therefore all links break this rule by definition. Of course some break it more than others!
The rule itself is against the natural order of the Internet and Google realised this a long time ago (In 2004 to be precise!) which is why it introduced other 'Wisdom of the Crowd' filters into the mechanism which produces what you call SERPS

A brief history of Search Engine Ranking

Prior to Web 2.0 ALL links were either created, submitted, traded or bought!
Now they are either given or placed in content!

All mature marketers were breaking this rule before Google even existed or insisted upon the illogical rule as a measure of quality.

Directory submissions were the first thing that breaks the Google rule that most marketers did back in the early noughties before Google was born.
Directory submissions were the sure fired way to get some 'authority' quickly and they were the only way to get good listings in search engines.
Search Engines in those days were effectively directories themselves before they either moved on to becoming portals or their client base got swallowed up into a larger engine!
Big names of the day included: Compuserve, AOL, Yahoo.com, Lycos, Alta Vista, Excite (The Overture Group), Ask etc etc.......

No Google! No Twitter! etc etc.....

The eternal problem Google has is that it employs 'wisdom of the crowd' mechanisms and a measure of quality and truth.
Sure the wisdom of the crowd mechanisms will expose the most obvious devious linking, but the problem remains the same and in fact has been exacerbated in the last couple of years with the development of many offshoot specialist services designed specifically to outfox the search engine filters and crowd wisdom.

Google does not have a chance in the face of collective collaboration which can set the truths and the rankings for itself.

folly of the crowd

Collective collaboration has espoused a whole new set of fixers! in the form of outsourced link building or forum posting or directory submissions and the much more worringly organised phenomena known as 'Crowdsourcing'.

You can beat all the Google Wisdom of The Crowd Filters if you employ enough resources to spread the message and content (read links) as far around the Internet as possible - After all the crowd cannot be wrong can it!

So we've got crowds of people flinging sh*t around the Internet and he who fling the most wins! - After all the crowd cannot be wrong can it!

Organised Crime?

I got approached today to join a crowd of the 'so called' very best at what I do, a super elite, who are going to collaborate to dominate Google for the keyword News. The client is a very famous global multi-national TV station.

I said I was too busy. Not that I am competing for their keywords!

I am busy , but Hey! Keep out of my areas, cos at the end of the day - 100 of you versus me - bring it on!

Where did the crowds get their wisdom from in the first place? An Individual!
Collective Individuality is only as good as its components!

Besides it's so easy to create a crowd of experts on the social media platform!!

There is no power in the wisdom of the crowd when the accepted truth is based on manipulation, which is why SERPS will always be in a flux!

As for Collective Collaboration - Should it be allowed?

Yeah! Let's ban all networking, networks, communication and education; shall we Google?

A Question of Aged Domains and Google

Also, with regard to aged domains, do you believe there is still value in an aged domain even if there has been no site live?
When acquiring an aged domian do you think it is a good or bad idea to change the Registrant TAG, eg. if I bought a domain that was registered via enom in the US is it SEO neutral / better / worse to leave the tag there?

The question of the age of a domain first raised it's head around four years ago when the'Mystery of the Google Sandbox' first appeared on the IM scene.

This happened to coincide with a time when many people were using new domain names in nefarious ways. So it was believed that an older registered domain could help you avoid the sandbox trap.

Aged domains must be defined as 'Greenfield' never used as opposed to 'Brownfield' pre-used.

Prior to the Sandbox - SEO'rs seemed only interested in 'aged links'

Do I believe that there is an advantage in hosting an aged greenfield domain?

If it's a generic domain name - without doubt!

Google knows what the domain means and also knows that someone has been sitting on that property for ten years say. It knows they have paid the renewal fee....

Generic Domains names do give you an advantage if you stick to optimised website structures.

Aged domains give you an acceptable doorway into keyword authority in an otherwise overly competitive search market!

In regards to Registrars records affecting rankings.......

Hey just cos I'm paranoid doesn't mean THEY arent watching!!
Unless you are in a very local market and host your server there and don't wish wider visibility - it really shouldn't matter...

Tip: One surefire way to avoid any sandworms when registering a new domain is to pay for TEN tears registration.
This shows Google you mean business!

Advanced Blogging And Why I Use Blogger - The Rasputin Effect

Now being a professional blogger carries with it some sort of responsibility to your readers.
No I don't mean You Lot, the people who read these ramblings are either Enlightened, Inquisitive or Insane.... So Which one are You?

What I meant was in my professional blogging capacity, mostly in the world of Insurance and Finance, if you want to be top of Google for your chosen blog keyword (check out insurance blog) you not only have to provide original quality content on a regular basis, but you also have to act the part, and more importantly look the part, to attract the attentions of other professional bloggers who collectively could improve your profile.(through links!)

Now I always use Blogger for blogging and in a moment I will tell you exactly why and explain what I call the 'Rasputin Effect', which is the sole reason that I would always chose this platform over a more functional alternative such as Wordpress.

However using Blogger as a platform does have it's downsides, and I'm not talking about the lack of bolt-ons for which Wordpress has a plethora; there are enough basic functional widgets available on Blogger for all but the most socially active.

I also disagree that a Wordpress site is better for SEO.
If you understand even basic HTML you can edit a Blogger template for on page SEO. Wisely using hyperlinks and keywords in the Blogger structural setup will also optimise your blog for SE ranking advantage.
It may be easier to SEO a blog in Wordpress but truth is it is not better!

No, the biggest downside is this.....
When I get invites from other top blogging professional for links, posts requests etc etc....... I always feel that my Blogger blog is rather like turning up for a business meeting in the City of London, having just rolled out of the surf on Perranporth beach or getting invited to a 'Black Tie Do' in the Hamptons with BO in attendance and turning up in a yellow 'gypsy' cab and in a pair of old rippped Levi's....

Lets face it Blogger ain't 'pretty'.

So why do I use it?

THE RASPUTIN EFFECT

For those of you who don't know their history I suggest you read about Rasputin on Wiki.
For those of you who do, you'd agree that Rasputin was a scruffy b**tard too!

Rasputin knew how to play the System!

So now you know the history you will see that Google is the Tsar, Blogger is the Tsarina and your scruffy Blogger blog is Rasputin.
You have the full attention of the Tsarina and The Tsar who likes to rewards his loyal subjects in the rankings! This is a competitive advantage.

But didn't Rasputin end up dead in the River Neva?
Don't Blogger blogs get zapped?

Yes and Yes!

But it took a lot to kill Rasputin and even after the cyanide, .33's, the knifings and the beatings and being chucked into -50 degrees of flowing water, some say....

He still had air in his lungs....

The solution to the threat of falling out at Court is found by holding your blog on it's own generic domain, preferbly of the most logical keyword that describes it's contents. This way you control the content distribution and can build up link love for the domain, whilst at the same time benefiting from all the built in distribution elements that come with Blogger to the Google court - such as Feedburner for example!

Remember though - It was also the social media mob who finally killed the Tsar and his family in Екатеринбу́рг and were also behind the scenes in the demise of Rasputin a year earlier.

To be Rasputin and hold such a high authority at Court, you do need to produce QUALITY! on a regular basis, avoid the threats and maybe use a little 'Magick'.

This is the bottom line, however it is served up!

Google Forces Personalised Search Results on an Unsuspecting Public

So Google has rolled out it's personalised search to everyone - like it or not!

The two geeks have been employed by Google to quietly tell the world that what they see when they search, is not the same as anyone else.
Moreover, unless you are in the 5% of users who change their browser settings, you will have no choice, as Google has taken to dropping more spyware in the shape of an anonymous cookie onto your machine in order to monitor your behaviour!

So how does this affect SEO?

It depends how you look at it. In theory more weight might be given to local results for example, however Google will make decisions based upon things like your previous bounce rates etc.

So what can you do to see the real results of your marketing efforts? Well for starters clear down web history and remove cookies. Also don't just check Google.co.uk if you live in the UK - have a look at Google.com as well.

This move has some very worrying trends.
Firstly it assumes that everyone using the machine is the same person. In many households multiple sign on accounts are not created.
Secondly it is an open invitation to black hat cookie droppers to influence SERPS.
More importantly when taken in context with all the other moves Google is making at the moment to profile every user, for example Google Mobile, the worry of privacy and 'big brother' style corporations becomes ever more real

The Affiliate Code - A blueprint to instant cash?

Michael Jones reveals all in The Affiliate Code
A complete set of videos and resources for those interested in dominating Google page 1 SERPS!
What Michael describes as a blueprint - a step by step guide to instant affiliate marketing!
How Michael Jones Made $64,521 In 4 Weeks With No List...

Is this True?

Let me explain.

He does have a list – lots of lists,
for different businesses.

But when he started testing these latest
techniques, he did it from scratch.

No list, no budget, no JV partners...

Just him and a computer... probably exactly
how it is for you right?

And he went from earning nothing at all, to
sucking down over two thousand bucks a
day, in no time at all.

Wanna know how he did it?

Well it's all explained here. Read every word:

The Affiliate Code

Now, I have something to reveal to you right
now, so listen up:

Usually when you see a marketer making so
much money, it's coming from Adwords, or
some other paid traffic.

So if they're making $2k a day, only say
$750 - $1000 will be actual profit. Obviously
there are exceptions, but on average those
figures are pretty accurate...

But not in this case.

The new techniques he's revealing to you
inside The Affiliate Code are free...

... I mean, you can literally make money
that's all profit, as the traffic is free.

But do you know what's better? There's
tons of this traffic, and it starts almost
immediately. It's like turning on a tap.

So for the first time ever, you can actually
make some serious commissions on your
very first day.

Let me repeat that – Serious Commissions
On Your FIRST DAY

Can you imagine that?

People are used to waiting weeks or
months to see their first cent... but now,
you don't have to.

Run over here to The Affiliate Code and check it out right now.

Does Website Size Affect Ranking? Of course it does!

Google Central has issued an interesting video from Matt Cutts asking whether size of a website, number of pages affects Authority in Google.

Mr Cutts says with a wry smile ( he's not lying - he's just ignorant!) at the end of the video that the answer is no!

But here's why the answer is so obviously yes.

Authority is determined by Google by Pagerank which is basically Kansky's theory of nodal magnitude in action (a wisdom of crowds method of determinining rank).

It's not just about the number of links to a page that determines the authority of a page (and here's the IMPORTANT BIT)... for A KEYWORD....

But the accumulated link score of the pages linking ......for Each Keyword!

So Pagerank means nothing until it is chunked and broken down and applied to each individual set of keywords

Nobody sells a one keyword product!

There are usually hundreds of qualifiers that produce long tails for every product

Every one of these long tailed keywords should have it's own optimized page!

Therefore size DOES matter!

(and there is always the matter of the value of internal links counting as well!)

The more pages optimised for each individual keyword the wider your traffic funnel - The bigger the book the more knowledge and the more authority on the subject is given or attributed to the author - It's the same on the web - simple as that.

Website Size
DOES matter - ask any girl!

Now I do have one page websites that top google for some pretty competitive keywords ( I should rephrase that to Keyword) but here is why...

1. The one page websites are as old as google itself
2. The websites are 2 word generic .com domain names with no hyphens
3. Each site (single page) has hundreds or thousands of backlinks to it for the keyword (domain name)
4. The Sites (page) are regularly refreshed with new content in the form of RSS feeds!

Debunking the Google Algorithm Myths - Google Police

You know the old saying about 'you're starting to feel old when the police look like kids'?

What about the google police?

You know the thing about policing is that it only occurs 'after the event'.

Control mechanisms are put in place, a structured system and society is established, and then it is the Police's function to uphold the principles of these control mechanisms - after the event.

Thus it is the SAME with Google!

Policing requires intervention

The primary function of any police force is to maintain the myth that they are in control, or more simply that the established order is being kept at equilibrium - even if it isn't! We accept and encourage these patterns through fear of alternatives.

Thus it is the SAME with Google

Truth of the matter is that reactionary gestures can never logically be creative. Rapid Response units only restore the status quo - like King Canute!

Thus it is the SAME with Google

So where are we going with this?

Google to goes to great pains 'after the event' to talk a lot of deflectionary bull about a subject that was originally conceived and put to Google as as a quality control mechanism 'FLAW' by the very populace of webmasters and SEO experts that it is assumed by newbies that Google is in a constant war of control with.

Not the case! You and me set the rules, dynamically and in a constant flux - Google responds!

Hey! have you noticed how the Police are getting younger?

Savvy webmasters would have optimised siloised web page structures an the question of internal duplicate content should not occur - as for the question of offsite duplication or content distribution there is definitely no penalty as such!

It's really a question of where you want to put it first to get the most link juice - is a thousand links from an article submission service worth a single link from for example an authority site such as ezinearticles?

So what did we learn from the video?

Well for One I've never heard Google talk so openly about link juice and flow control

How does the wisdom of crowds affect ranking? Think Link VALUE - lots of good KEYWORDS in there - devaluation, multiple site linking and link structures!

Is DMOZ.org dead - You've got to be kidding!

People still ask me 'Is it worth getting into The Open Directory?' or 'How do I get into DMOZ?'

Some of these people are seasoned professional webmasters!

For those of you who are not familiar DMOZ.org or the (not so) Open Directory is a multi-hand edited website directory, siloised by category, hierarchically within regional parameters. Each silo has its own human editor.

Google has used it amongst other things as a basis for Google Web Directory (not serps) for five or six years now. It can be considered to be a directory of authority sites.

Why does Google like it?

Simple! it's hand edited and can be used as a basis for trust and assigned authority!

An entry into DMOZ tells Google that you are exactly what it says on the tin. There's no Spam in the DMOZ superstore, except for perhaps the odd site owned by the rogue editor.

So here's my take on DMOZ.

A listing is essential to establish credibility and authority quickly.
A listing will give you at least a Google 1PR extra, or its SERPS link juice equivalent, if you are a small site.
A listing will get you

Here's the paradox! Don't expect lots of traffic!
Why? Because from my experience not that many people use DMOZ directly for search or anything else much from what I can see, except for stealing data (page sucking or using API's) to create new directories, or for submitting new sites.

Given that, DMOZ still has an Alexa traffic rank of 764 today, which puts it within the most visited and most important websites in the world.

So you definitely need to be in it!

But how do you get into the Open Directory?

Submission
It's basically a lottery and depends upon the availability or attitude of the scrutineer (editor) of the chosen category that you must personally visit and submit to.
WARNING: Never submit more than once or you will be moving you site to the bottom of the queue!
Don't wait around for results you could be reading War and Peace and growing a beard before you might get listed. Submit and forget!

Be warned! Long established commercial or product specific categories are particularly difficult to get a listing!

There are alternatives....

1. If you offer a unique or unusual service where there is little competition you stand a fair schance of getting an entry by product or service category - as long as you submit to the right generic category!

2. Go Local!
Say you own a nationwide car insurance business but cannot get it listed under Insurance > Motor >.....
If your business is located in Swansea Wales try entering it under regional > Uk > Wales West Glamorgan > local business or whatever....

Any entry in DMOZ is worthwhile because even if you are not in your chosen preferential category, local listings will get you into the mix for the searches carried out over the DMOZ database for your keywords; assuming you've done the Directory entry bit right from an SEO point of view.
This includes searches by Google!

One of the major reasons that DMOZ is pure link gold is because many many directory builders and so called spammers, now suck data straight out of DMOZ and your links get spread all over the place - for free!

SEO - Whose the best? Watch out Europe! the Yanks are Coming!

Who is the best at SEO?

More precisely which country in the world produces the best SEO'rs?

By SEO, I mean quite simply results - top rankings in Google for difficult keywords on a continual ongoing basis!

Why am I asking this?

Well the Google SERPs speak for themselves and when you've been studying them for years, you notice patterns!

One thing that I've always been aware of is the geographical influence of sets of results influencing the SERPS.

Living in the UK I am constantly cross checking results from Google.com, Google.co.uk and thanks to some great American black hat tools, many other Google servers.

During the last six months I noticed a surge, no even a Tsunami! of sets of results that can only be traced back to National intelligence on behalf of the page submitters!

Yep Some Nations are much better at SEO than others!

Maybe we should hold a World Cup! Mondiale SEOle!

Google has noticed too!

And guess what my buddies over at Gooogly house are pissed off!

WW3 a new world internet protocol awaits the perps!

According to Matt C they are sending the Witchfinder General's right hand henchman a certain Mr Brian White over to Europe to 'sought us EUROPEANS out!

"Over there! Over there!"

Hurrah The Yanks are coming and they're going to save us all from SPAM!

spam

Watch the video............ http://videos.webpronews.com/2006/11/21/pubcon-exclusive-interview-with-matt-cutts/

So Why Europe?

Why do all the American SEO Conference interviewers think that the UK is a hot bed of black hatters? (Tee Hee!). Yeah especially when all the black hat techniques have come from the States originally!

No for spam you've only got to look as far as Eastern Europe where some serious attacks have recently originated from, and still to this day do!

SEO GoogleTesting reveals Social Bookmarking & Blog spam gives Top SERPS!

Just to let you know that The System has noticed while testing that Google SERPS are currently definitely favouring Wisdom of crowds and noise results, such as social bookmarking and blog spam.

I've today seen some bookmarking tag pages show up on the first page of Google for highly competitive keywords - clipmark seems to be in favour at the moment - personally I think its probably due to the enormous amount of people using automated social bookmarking tools.

It'll be interesting to see how long the spam lasts for .... the problem is one wave of spammers is constantly followed by another....it's the wisdom of the cheap Indian labour force... and there are a billion of them!!

Google and Me - Best of Buddies!

A lot of people have asked me.....

Why do you publish some of your stuff? why do say the things you do about Google?
If they are true, surely Google will punish you, whack you, wipe you out!

Tee Hee!

I used to lurk around forums in the days of the dinosaurs revelling in my cloak of invisibility - flying under the radar as we say in the biz!

Guess What?

I still do !

.....but the stuff you are learning here and what is about to be revealed as I said from the very first Post - this system is not about Google! the Internet is not Google centric anymore!

Now we have Web 2.0 - THE SOCIAL INTERNET

Like I've boasted - there is nothing Google can do to stop the viral spread of my ideas on how to dominate Google SERPS.

Furthermore, Google cannot interfere with the network structure of Web 2.0 and even if it could - I would have better rankings than now because there exists an optimized network structure for linking that Googles algo relies upon and cannot alter!

More Furthermore, and the most important reason of All - Google loves my stuff!

Google doesn't care either as a machine, National Institution or the people that work for IT. They all love my stuff!

Like I say the proof of the pudding is in the eating as my few corporate clients will tell you!

Anyway Google and I are buddies (again) (Yeah OK, I was pretty pissed with Gog when it whacked my No 1 car insurance site in 2005 - so they say it's best served cold!)

The chaps at Google love my stuff, how do I know?

We link to each other! it publishes my stuff- I syndicate it's stuff(or stuff of mine originating from its tools. After all I only promote quality, hard work, meritocracy and good linking structures!

Secondly, the guys that work for Google are the cream of their own niches! The very best! (in their own disciplines)

There-in lies the problem.

None of them can see the bigger picture, not even Mr Eric Schmidt, well not the picture of how Google works anyway! just the bits they are working on - Good old Adam Smith!

So you see, Google is just a small search centric network neighbourhood where each division or arm has its own agenda and autonomy. Google is not a model of the wisdom of crowds, it is a design of top down hierarchical structures that can be decomposed! The problem for Google bosses is how do you spread a wisdom of crowds culture in a diverse, arrogant, self competitive neighbourhood network of the very best?

But the marketing lesson is be kind to poor old Google by giving it what it wants!
As we've been saying all along long term ranking means long term committment to be Google's buddy. Google has heard it all before - Google wants new stuff, Google wants Buzz, Google wants to Understand!

Being Google's buddy means taking it out and dining at the best loved restaurants (web 2.0 places) with high quality food (content) on a regular basis (RSS). Use it's favourite tools like Blogger and Youtube to whisper in its ear, and you will be rewarded with a place at the top table - rapido!

Google Global Domination - Dark Forces Are At Play!

ORDER = HIERARCHY
HIERARCHY = AUTHORITY
AUTHORITY = ORDER

All of them = RANK

This basic triangle is the basic principle of the system.

If you have optimized order you naturally have authority and rank!

Those of you who have been following my thoughts on the system may well be wondering, "what's that all about then? wizards, magic, astral projection? Has he gone off his rocker?"

Today all will be revealed?

First I want to ask you a question, that I want you to consider and think about very carefully and honestly before you answer it?

Before you answer the question I want you to consider amongst many things the following

Ethics, morals, right and wrong, black and white, sheep and The wisdom of the Crowd and how your feelings and judgements are shaped by the actions of other people around you - affecting you.

You need to decide in binary - YES or NO - no qualifiying rational, black hat or white hat - just a simple yes or no.......

OK here's the question in its basic form.

Is it right to profit from knowledge that has been obtained by dark forces and genocide?

Thought about it yet?...

If you think the answer is YES keep reading

If you think the answer is NO - don't read anymore of this post

OK

THE DARK LORD OF SPATIAL ANALYSIS

Today we are going to take you to the other side, the dark side, the negative, the void, Chaos - the nagual - Hell!
A place where things are forcibly ordered to an optimal spatial structure regardless.

Every profession has one, beleive it or not, a Frankenstein, a Dr Jeckyll or a Joseph Mengele to keep the theme Gothic.

Spatial Analysis is no different

I'd like to introduce you to the Dark Lord of Spatial Analysis

The man whose evil work will show you how to understand order, hierarchy and authority and how to manipulate it to dominate Google rankings!

The dark wizard who will make you see that the Internet is NOT Google Centric, but in a forced Google centric world, its easy to put yourself at the centre for a keyword!

Do you still want to know?

Before I whisper the name of he who shall not be mentioned, I'd just like to take the opportunity of warning you that this man's thoughts were responsible for the enslavement and deaths of millions of people less than a century ago!

Welcome to the dark world of Walter Christaller (1893 – 1969)

Central place theory

Christaller was a German geographer and member of the Nazi party (he later joined up with Stalin), who invented Central Place Theory

Christaller's Central Place Theory redefined the models for location in space, and set the standards for modern spatial analysis. The theory demonstrates how a node on a network dominates through size, connectivity and traffic the markets of the surrounding nodes (all of which can be measured) and how a nodal order of authority is established which is self controlling in an ordered hierarchical structure - perfect for Nazi planning!
The above diagram is Christaller's original document for the Spatial Ordering of Southern Germany in 1933, which has become a modern classic in Economic Geography University departments around the world. He later went on to re-organize most of Central Europe!

Essential also, for an understanding of Web 2.0 authority websites of all rank and size, hierarchical structures, how they rank, and how to interact with them (connect, link, contribute) in order to obtain the best authority order on higher authority sites for certain keywords!

The essence of Christaller's theory is that the bigger you are - the more influence you have in dominating those around you! - well you would expect that from a Nazi and you can see why Hitler bought into Christaller's theory in as much as the whole Fatherland was planned around Central Place Theory! Stalin liked what he saw too!

This applies equally to markets in any HOMOGENISED network such as the Internet where space (and time) are outside the equation for structural order when applied to rankings.
A google.co.uk will produce different results defined by spatial parameters, however these are only a subset of the controlling Google.com - the overall wisdom of the crowd - centralised!

How Christaller would have loved the Internet to play with! I wonder if he'd have helped kill so many websites as he did Europeans, in the enforced structures that he would propose upon the NET....

More on this and the implications for Internet Marketing very soon..........

Watching Googles SERPs being manipulated - Blog Spam and how to do it properly

We don't teach you these trick's here, well we do actually, but what we don't do is advocate them for long term SERP success at Google and definitely not for creating an optimized network structure.....however these tactics will bring you short term success and if the keyword is rich enough - lots of filthy lucre.

You do have to spend quite a bit of money upfront on Indian SEO services though, but if you do it right and more importantly in the right places, then the riches can be milked from the traffic before you get whacked by Google....even better if you let someone else do all the work (like the Indians), but we'll talk about that later.....

So what am I talking about?

In a couple of words - Web 2.0 comment spam! Blog Link Spam!

why blog links are spam

I'm talking about paying lots of Indians (under the pathetic guise of SEO services) to go and make hundreds or thousands of comments on blogs (and other social media websites) that allow you to, all over the world, thus building up authority via the wisdom of crowds that Googles ranking algo relies upon.

More explicitly the wisdom of the crowds that is determined through one way links from authority sites using Kansky's algorithm of nodal authority.

So who is doing this and where is it working?

(Did I detect squirms from many of our readers? - don't worry its not you we're outing today!)

Unless you are Australian! (Cmon chaps the Ashes is starting isn't it!!!)

I'm going to show you an example of who is doing this, how it works and also how to take advantage of someone elses spam!

Right, one of first things we teach here at The System is to keep an eye on your keywords, particularly the SERPs for your targetted keywords.
Pay particular attention to who else is in the market - your competition - who are they? why are they there? where are they getting their links from?

So when we started to see an AUSTRALIAN Website shooting up the rankings for a very competitive keyword - we want to know WHY?

More importantly we want to confirm our suspicions, because we remembered the cheeky POMS had spammed our blogs a few weeks before!
(By the ways it's you Australians that are POHM'S - Prisoners Of Her Majesty)

So who are we talking about- well a website that has been giving Moneysupermarket.com a run for it's money (on SEO services).....

Ratedetective.com.au!

Check out their backlinks on Yahoo.com Spam and drill down for links to a particular product that they have been spamming like Income Protection

Visit the blogs and you will see that they have made lots of posts using Indian SEO services, using the keyword Income protection thus benefiting from the name/site link alllowed on most blogs.
They've mostly signed up as a user, which takes a minute, to take advantage of the keyword user name.

Cheeky Aussie gits - it's not the way to do things long term and if you don't keep the buzz up it will soon drop off - keep an eye of the sites rankings in Google!

Here's a link for Income protection as they, and a few other Choice Australians I could mention, seem to be hitting it as hard as Moneysupermarket do!

TIP - Take advantage of all those millions of SEO Indians hard work in finding these FFA links and post away to your hearts content - if you can't beat them - join them

It's the Wisdom of Crowds!

SO HERE'S HOW TO GET LINKS PROPERLY WITHOUT PENALTY

Now here's how to do it using optimized networks constructed of RSS! (don't bother to click the link - it's a recursive one to make sure I still rank No.1 for that term when people start to copy my ideas!

Think RSS! it satisfies the 4 necessities demanded by the wisdom of the crowds!

RSS is the wisdom of the crowd - you dont PUSH it on people - People CHOOSE it!

RSS is the solution!

More on Google and the Wisdom of the Crowd -In Search of the Truth

If you have been following our posts on Google and the Wisdom of the Crowd, the theory of he who spreads his ideas or links the furthest and loudest becomes the Authority and therefore the truth - hasn't escaped the backroom boys at Google - who in fact the sort of admit (because they do not know but suspect from their assignment briefs) that Googles algo incorporates the wisdom of the crowd......in a recent post that they have cared to rank top for Google Wisdom of the Crowd

Heres the Google post http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/09/putting-crowd-wisdom-to-work.html

Google Thriller! Google shuts down Michael Jackson as DOS attack threat

The moment that Michael Jackson died - he died on Google

Google made a deadly mistake of interfering with the wisdom of the crowd!

The moment that the news of the death of Michael Jackson (two hours ago) started to hit the worldwide airwaves, the servers of Google closed him down thinking that the instant massive number of searches for the term Michael Jackson was a Denial of Service Attack (DOS), where multiple servers are used to send the sanme request (in recursive loops).

Google killed Wacko!

Wow, the lesson here is release your food to Google very slowly otherwise you might just be a DOS attack - you wish!

Twitter died too!

Google revises No Follow rules - Oh Yeah!

Here's an interesting post about page rank sculpting or black hole funnelling as we call it.

Google’s Changes to Nofollow Management Undermine PageRank Sculpting
Posted by Rene LeMerle

Google’s revealed that the advanced SEO practice of PageRank sculpting will be far less effective as it’s changed the rules on nofollow.

For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of PageRank sculpting, here’s a brief explanation.

Let’s assume we have a web page that carries a Google PageRank of 8. (PageRank is Google’s assessment of a pages importance on a scale of 0 – 10).

If this web page links to 4 other pages within the site, it’s believed that it then parses equal amounts of its PageRank on to the destinations pages via the links (i.e. each page receives 2 of its 8 PR points).

PageRank Sculpting involves the use of nofollow tags on links to control where the PageRank value flows within a website. So if two of the links above had nofollow tags added, then the other 2 pages would get 4 of the original pages PR points.

pr-sculpting

So as you can see – webmasters could bolster the PageRank (and hopefully Google Ranking) of certain pages in a website through controlling PR flow.

Well Google’s public SEO voice, Matt Cutts, has revealed that Google’s management of nofollow has changed – potentially rendering the practice of basic PageRank sculpting useless. (NOTE: sculpting can involve more than just using nofollow)

According to Cutts, Google will no longer allow webmasters to build up link juice and funnel it to certain pages. If nofollow is used on links, the other pages wont get a PR boost – instead they’ll just receive the same PR value they would have, if all the links were followed.

So alas – this could be the end of PR sculpting as we know it. Given the announcement was made during a Q&A session at a conference; webmasters will be waiting patiently for an official statement on the policy from Google.

Will this change to nofollow impact your SEO efforts? If you’re currently use PageRank Sculpting - share some other ways you manage the flow of PR on your website…

Hmm

Well if you've been following the systems analysis of order you would know that we dont agree with the way that Google is supposed to parse PR as described within, however keeping an eye on Mr Cutts is worthwhile!

What is useful is this.

In an internet marketing optimized network structure, the links would be single keyword connectors , one to a page named the same. If there are no other links out then all the link juice flows to the desired funnel tip - your money page.

Beat that Cuttsy!

Optimised Network Structures

Heres more proof of my system!

ten minutes ago I changed the header on the blog to include the keyword connector Optimized Network Structures and did a little jiggery pokery with the link flow. I made not offsite links at all.

Within 8 minutes of posting the mention of Optimised Network Structures for the first time I'm no 8 and 9 on google out of 4mill+ - the proof is in the eating!

If you want to whisper in Googles Ear you have to get close to the Beast. Sorry Wordpress fanatics, your utility is admirable but we are talking 'optimized network structures'. Which is why I use Blogger!

Labels: , , , , ,

Optimized Network Structures are the SEO holy grail

Go do a search on Google for 'optimized network structures'

Wow the results are amazing!

All these brainboxes hunting around their different disciplines looking for THE ANSWER.

Why didn't they ask some one who knows?

Like a Geographer

Duh!

(Mind you I'm going to read all their papers with fascination!
Especially any about viral agents!)

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Chain of Fools - Optimised network structures will get you top SERPS!

Underneath it all – Its all about LINKS – Nothing more, Nothing Less!

Google wants to be Quality. We want it to be Quality!

But!

Googles ranking system depends upon for quality, the principles defined in the notion of The Wisdom Of The Crowd. Otherwise nobody would believe anything!

If you transform this theory to Spatial Analysis and apply it, you have an equivalent theorum - Kanskys theorum of Nodal Order – a formula for deriving the order of importance of related objects in space and for measuring relative location in space.

This Kanskian theory like The wisdom of the crowds, depends upon link voting and is the basis for the Google ranking algorithm!

However this voting system has nothing to do with quality when you apply it to Cyberspace and in particular how Google ranks its pages!

Because the underlying principle on which it is based is flawed – flawed because it can easily be manipulated by the likes of you and me!

Google is North Korea
Flawed because votes in a democracy can be fixed (the number and volume of links in)

People are Sheep

Flawed because there is no prerequisite for quality in the original votes (links)
People follow the crowd and the Foolishness of the Crowd will win out due to the Law of Large Numbers. However what is true today does not have to be true tomorrow. (The volume of links will always win out over quality due to the law of large numbers).
People aggregate to the centre because they are sheep and cannot make up their own minds and would rather other people did it for them ! Great lets exploit that!

Google is The Lord of The Flies – (Don’t be a Piggy)
Flawed because like Darwin suggested, survival of the fittest, mob rule and marginalisation of those who don’t toe the party line is central to Googalian thinking. (those with no links or without the right connections will be eliminated!)

Content is the Node
Call it what you want, lets functionally decompose it or chunk it down…

Portal, website, webpage, content, content object. Its all a node!

Content is king because content is the meta-attribute of the thing you are measuring – a web page.
Apart from the links in and out which define aggregated content in a spatial order, what else is there that could Google could possibly measure for a base level quality score?

So does Google measure Content?

Sure - But only as an attribute of the vessel it sits in - but NOT as a measure of connectivity of the vessel – geddit

Attributes of the page which can be measured include things like interaction with the page , bounce rate etc are human actions directly related to the construct and objects on the page. But these are just attributes and do not significantly affect the underlying principles for categorising pages – links, and logically only come into play as a ranking factor when they achieve votes from the public as visits (traffic).

But Google cannot and never has, used traffic as a ranking factor other than the way in which it is incorporated into FLOW POTENTIAL between nodes by links as defined by network analysis.

How can you construct an algorithm from scratch that measures FLOW when a conceptual network has no flow! All you can do is measure it’s POTENTIAL to carry flow and its FLOW DIRCTION –

MORE LINKS – HIGHER RANKS – MORE TRAFFIC – MORE SALES

It’s as simple as that.

CHAIN CHAIN CHAIN

The chain of fools

Link, link, link away to you hearts content but 99% of you out there are TOTALLY wasting your time!

Hang on – Didn’t you just say that it’s volume of links that count!

Sure did, but as I’ve been telling you all along throughout this Blog It’s all about KEYWORDS

The ONLY attribute that a link possesses at the Server/Webpage level is the KEYWORD

The keyword is the CONNECTOR at BOTH ENDS! of the PIPE (or should be in an optimised structure)

The keyword has DIRECTION

If you string 5 pieces of content together with the SAME keyword link you are creating a micro society for that keyword, a community.
You are also adding value to the keyword as a measure of interest or importance, in a notional sense you are contributing to it’s attribute score for internal goggle classification scoring.

You are adding FLOW and in Kanskian terms aggregated PR in a snowball effect picking up volume every time it passes through a node – like a train!

And guess what trains run on !

Yes Railways - Organised structured networks of the least resistance – so lets build one!

Here’s some of the things we are going to show you in THE SYSTEM

Tips and Lessons of best network structures

Lesson - You only PASS link value if the keywords linking out on the page are the same, e.g. two links with the same keyword CONNECTING two different nodes.

Lesson - Too many keyword links on a page and you are devaluing the connectivity between the linking pages and the content that surrounds them!

Understanding how to PROFIT
Link bait and juice – exactly what it says on the tin – designed to get inbound links to your page through content – better content – more links (why quality will always win out with the wisdom of the crowd in a homogenised population). Well show you how to create linkbait network structures!

Googles Biggest Headache!
Artificial inflation of links in a non homogenised population such as cyberspace is admittedly Googles biggest problem, because it distorts the wisdom of the crowd!

Done properly, once in place it CANNOT be altered due to the Law of Large Numbers, without a Tsunami in the way if INTERNET ORDER

This is good and bad – So lets take advantage and play within the rules - lets create our own link juice and go swimming in it!– lets turn those link juice taps on and PIPE them to your pages!

So that’s what we are going to do! Show you how to create nuclear linking structures that rip up Google Algo!

It’s Google’s Achilles heel (it’s only one)

Get the best links from the most important Web 2.0 properties and you will gradually see something magical happening – lift off!

The Internet is a level playing field – Ha Ha !

FORGET ABOUT PAGERANK!

Take a look at this (But don’t bother to read it unless you are a geek!) – A mathematical analysis of Page Rank – Hmm!

IMHO this is as about as useful as a thesis about the interaction of sub atomic particles in the combustion chamber of a car!

Why – because we are not interested in what happens to the petrol in the carburetta –

We are interested in where the petrol came from what it does and where the output is going!

Think Process – Input - - Action - Transformation – Output

THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT GOOGLE

The reason I think this approach is BS is because it is trying to define through supposition and preposition something that is already defined and cannot be changed when it enters the Google PROCESS and that is Order or Rank!

Remember! We are not looking for a transformation value!

The Ranking Value has ALREADY been decided by the linking structures!

That my friends is the secret of THE SYSTEM and when you see how we take advantage of this, frankly I think you are going to wet yourselves!

Keep Learning!

Social Bookmarking is the wisdom of the crowd - or the bookmark generation

Yesterday we showed you how set theory and the principles of the wisdom of the crowd are incorporated into Googles algorithm as a generalised statement of the truth or if you like, quality index. See Set theory and Google Pagerank

Today I am going to give you an example of how this works in practice and how the impact of the principle affects the search results of Google.

The example I am going to use to demonstrate this in action is that of Social Bookmarking.

Social Bookmarking is the act of one individual voting for a website, by placing a link in a voting centre hub, aka a social bookmarking site. This act alone provides no effect upon the total population of votes for websites held on that hub and is an insignificant gesture.

Did Google listen? You bet because it hangs around social media Social Bookmarking sites all day and night looking for buzz so that it can calculate rankings based upon the wisdom of the crowd. Bingo you might even get that link indexed in Google!

The problem is this...

There are 500 on theme links on Delicious for the keyword 'whatever'

Your main competitor has 200 links from different accounts (most Social Bookmarking sites do not allow you to or discount, multiple same url post) and the rest are divided up here and there.
You have 1.

The wisdom of crowds will be applied proportionally and you are way out of game with your competitors!

So what can you do to compete?

Get more accounts with different Social Bookmarking sites?

Sure great idea, lets have a look at this.

So you set up sites at five (or more) different Social Bookmarking hubs, as shown in the diagram below:

the law of large numbers and social bookmarking

Now if you look at this diagram you will immediately see (if you read our post about optimal network linking structures and pagerank, that you have created a perfect hub - cool!

Did Google listen? You bet because it hangs around social media Social Bookmarking sites all day and night looking for buzz so that it can calculate rankings based upon the wisdom of the crowd. Bingo you might even get those 5 links indexed in Google!

If your competitor is doing the same he probably just got another 1000!

So you are beginning to see the problem!

It's the underlying mathematical principle upon which the logic of the wisdom of truth sits. In fact it also underlies every possible statistical analysis technique and its called....

Bernoulli's Law of Large Numbers (LLN)

Call it what you want , the cream always floats to the top, the vox populi, the wisdom of the crowds - they are all founded uopn the principle of the LLN.

The LLN states that if the size of a given set or population satisfies the law then the mean or average can be trusted to be a perfect 'truth'. The law is satisfied when the mean or average result for a set of tests (search queries) stays constant.

That is, the result can be seen as constant if, you keep adding proportionally to the set and it makes no difference to the Average result or a large standard deviation either side of it!.

(In serps terms that means consistently at No.1 in Google determined by the number of links, the result being over time, conversation domination as Howie Schwartz puts it - competitor shut out)

The LLN is important because it "guarantees" stable long-term results for random events.

The LLN introduces the concept of the effect of time on link building and authority. This is why older websites have natural rank and authority.

It is the LLN that is responsible for the 'sandbox effect' when you first start linkbuilding!

It's the LLN that gives sites their topological nodal authority! (Link nodal order)

The LLN also proves the theory that you must drip feed Google good quality content from high Kanskian quartile authority sites (with links) on a long term basis to retain your SERPS ORDER, or as Howie puts it... continuity....

It is this law combined with the principles of the wisdom of crowds that we use as the solution for our online ranking problems, and to shoot down and shut out the opposition....... before they do it to you!

It's the LLN that allows you to promise your SEO clients long term ranking success!

So here is the law of large numbers in action in the Social bookmarking world.

the law of large numbers and social bookmarking

So you see that the only way to become 'the voice of the crowd' is to own multiple accounts at every conceivable social bookmarking hub that Google feeds at.

Is this ethical? Sure hell it is! If you don't do it your competitors will.
Haven't you learn't yet, Internet Marketing is war!

Won't this get my site banned from Google?
Why, because some of the best web 2.0 properties are voting for you with massive link love?
Google can only assimilate what it finds.
If delicious says its worth PR5 of its considerable juice then thats what it is worth.
You might get an account zapped by delicious but thats the risk you run.
If you have done your job properly according to the Law of Large Numbers this will not affect your rank one iota!. It's not up to google to police the output of other nodes! As long as people (traffic) are voting for that site by visiting it - so will google.

Google might change the rules and zap say delicious!

So what !
It doesn't change the law of large numbers just because a large set got zapped! As long as you are present in every set!

OK so dominating the wisdom of the crowd for top ranking keywords is a lot of work right?

The only way to do it is to either outsource the work or use automated social bookmarking tools or both!

There is only one tool as far as I am concerned that is up to the job and is constantly updated and includes some priceless bonus tools that you just can't get anywhere else ......and that is Bookmark Generation, owned and developed exclusively for the reformed king of the black hatters- Mr Howie Schwartz of Norwalk Conneticut.

Howies tool allows you to add every link you want bookmarked to all the best google feeding bookmarking hubs...which are constantly changing from what I can see since I've subscribed to this 'project' from day one. It's totally under the radar and allows you to set up projects to be released with mashed up keywords and decriptions and posting times and number of posts etcetc....in other words it leaves no logical posting pattern!

He's just updated it to Bookmark Generation 2.0 (geddit) and it's now white hot as he's added in this bonus tool from his black hat laboratory which is brand new and a killer web 2.0 analysis tool.

here's what it produces

This shows you what web 2.0 properties are passing the most link juice for your particular keywords and therefore where to 'create yor perfect hubs'

Thats all for now folks, hope this helps - the rest you will have to purchase - its deadly!"

The System is coming soon.
You can't learn this stuff anywhere else!
The system uses mathematic principles and analytic techniques taken from the disciplines of Geography, Economics, Sociology, Epidemiology and Computer Science to reverse engineer the Google Algorithm. The system uses network analysis and web 2.0 properties to construct an optimal link network for keyword ranking domination of Google.

Understanding Set Theory and Google

A small step towards explaining the system that allows you to dominate search engine rankings at will - continually and with no penalty.

The wisdom of crowds is a social theory that hypothesises that if you put enough people of a diverse set into a unionised set (or population as it becomes) the wisdom of crowds will give you an accurate score of truth and quality.

Any marketing campaign that wishes to manipulate the keyword sort function of google we must therefore presuppose has to obey all the rules of definition of the wisdom of crowds, and at the same time not satisfy any of the errors.

Who want's to be a millionaire? (WE ALL DO YEAH!) Ask the Audience! wisdom of the crowd (thats me Tarrant's throttling by the way! now thats another story about being TOO clever)

Think about how this applies to Internet Marketing

we've given you enough clues - the rest you are going to have to pay for!

not just yet though...

So here's the answers to a couple of components of the system that I've been teasing you about for the last few days

These two words describe part of the structure of the system that rips google open like a can opener, by taking advantage of the underlying mathematical structures of the web, that Google cannot change and are not determined by Google, but upon which Google relies to present search results.

the words are

AGGREGATION

SYNDICATION

Viddy well my drogues!

Further reading: Wisdom of the Crowd

This is Golddust!

When we release the system in a couple of months time you will learn how to apply the wisdom of crowds to your Internet marketing strategies!

BIG TIP - when thinking about all the implications of the wisdom of crowds, instead of thinking of the crowd set as people - think of it as webpages - or more speciifcally - CONTENT!

Google is just a database!

Ok heres the real truth

I've got sites up that are much older than google and being a computer nerd at the time took a very great interest in every new search engine, especially one day a brand new one called Google. Anyone who had Compuserve would understand!

As a systems analyst I was still working full time for a very large UK Financial services company on these extrememly complex database designs and real time processing solutions, taking google to bits was a spare time laugh, and there were not that many variables initially, that do the sort function, not even a fifth of the number that might go into the average small database file structure on an AS/400 relational database - Any Insure/90 programmers out there will know what I mean if I mention RSKFIN

And guess what Google ran on - still might do (for all I care), but I think IBM keeps changing the name!

Yep AS/400s - banks of them apparantely! The boys in IBM Rochester were raking it in!

Oh yeah by the way - the reason I found out about Google before most people in the first place, when it was still a prototype, was because one of our RPG programmers pointed out to me one day this article in some nerd RPG mag that I usually had to pretend to be interested in - but this time I was because it was about my favourite subject and specialist subject - InterneT

So heres the truth cos I've got to go to bed!

In the beginning there was chaos (and boring .edu docs)

And along came the hand of god and created order and structure out of the void

And that hand (its a bit withered now)

was

SEO

Today there is chaos again

Fortunately there is a solution

Optimising Image Search on Google

If you sell products that people desire by the way they look - especially in comparison to others, then you must take image search seriously!

Images are very important if you want to practice conversation domination through universal search. Google treats images in various ways, most are tied into their analysis of the source of the image webpage and it relevancy to the search string.

The Google image search teamhave just released an interesting video on how to optimise images for Google Image search ranking:

These are the salient points from the video!

It explains how images are sorted - search intent of the user is matched to image

Images are clustered and canonicalised (weighted) for duplicate content towards what google thinks is the origin!

At query time they apply image to web page quality scores! They then apply origin relevance score to query

Image ranking uses multi-variate sorting 'signal' to rank!

Query trails from images are measured for 'Bounce rate'!

HQ is given priority (large images - google doesn't like thumbnails unless they are links), above the fold and image text on topic (same as video optimisation) Title Description (including links!) etc

Google Analytics- query and image strings are analysed

New features are regularly being added to Googles blog

Try and get your images on Flickr.com - its owned by Yahoo and is effectively Yahoo's youtube for alternative traffic. Yahoo and Goog have recently started sleeping together - again!

Google is lying about Page Rank and Linking! The Truth is out there!

Somewhere on the Google webmaster (sic) tools section, I can't care to or remember exactly where it says this, but you'll also find many online repetitions of the unending LIE

"A website cannot affect another websites rankings by linking to it"

LIE LIE LIE!

Google invented Page Rank!

LIE LIE LIE!

If you read just the words of the above statements and listen to the little bits of disinformation that Google puts out through channels and mouthpieces such as Matt Cutts, you could possible argue that the semantics of the statements were true!

However underneath it all it is one BIG LIE!

And here is why!

Lets look at the second big lie that Google invented Page Rank first.

Here's what really happened when Google was just a functional specification!

A couple of young Stamford students were looking for a ranking algorithm to describe the order of objects located in cyberspace, so they could present them on a web page described as search results.
They turned to a much more older and VERY unknown discipline for ordering the importance of objects in space, which evolved in the 1950's as a sub sub branch of (Geographical) Mathematics in this sub order:

Mathematics - Topology - Graph theory - Set theory - Spatial Analysis

In 1963 a young Geographer named Kansky from Cambridge UK, invented the network theory that is now known in its Internet manifestation as Page Rank

What he described is a formula for ordering the importance of nodes (vertices) in a network not just based upon the volume of links (connections) between them (the method defined in topological theory), but defining the node as being a product of the power of the links that are linking to it!

ring any bells?

The power assigned to each link is derived by carrying out multi-variate analysis over the attributes that each node posseses (Googles so called 200+ variable PR dataset colected by spiders!)

OK this is the underlying Maths that Google CANNOT change!

GOOGLE did not invent this! They just applied it to cyberspatial objects!

In 1978 a young geographer from the University of Wales in Swansea took Kansky's Theorem of Nodal Magnitude to the next level by adding a concept of nodal inheritance, and if you care to visit the Earth Sciences Library building in Swansea University, you will find deep in the dust covered canyons of forgotten student dissertations, formulas and a conceptual framework for quantifying the nodal order of any network! . It's located (or used to be) just a stones throw from one of the oldest nodes on the Internet - The computer building that was part of the JANET network and housed this massive mainframe Hitachi or ICL mainframe computer the size of a condominium! Anyway I digress..

The second lie

Think on this!

I have a site that is No.1 on Google for whatever keyword or set of keywords

The reason it is No 1 is because it has 100,000+ links from a variety of Authority sites (Authority sites are sites that are ranked in the higher quartile once you apply Kanskys theorum).

Think on this

What do you think would happen if I owned all those authority sites and overnight I removed the 100000+ links?

ITS ALL LIES GOOGLE!

You heard from the worlds leading and probably one of the oldest authorities on Spatial analysis right here at THE SYSTEM.

Comments from current Geography Students, Mathmeticians and epidemiologists are more than welcome! PM.

Why RSS is the link glue for SEO

RSS has become the global de-facto standard for online content syndication.

Every page you create or web 2.0 property or object should provide an RSS feed with the exact content you want to syndicate - your link!

RSS feeds allow many web 2.0 websites owners a simple way to consume your RSS feed and display its contents on their websites.

Every time you update your RSS feed, for example when adding a blog story, the content on your syndication partners' websites is updated too. If you're syndicating content to a thousand other websites and web 2.0 properties you have created for vthis very purpose, all of them will receive the same updated version at the same time you update your RSS feed. Easy, simple, cheap and streamlined.
more importantly - you get heard! and you get links you've created, every time someone takes your feed.

BIG TIP! - why not make web2.0 properties from your own feeds?

MASH IT UP and avoid duplicate content penalties!

And because this is a standard there are now countless online web properties and RSS tools available to make this process straightforward for even the newest marketer.

Banned from Google?

Have you ever had your site removed from the Google Index for being naughty?

We have! Years ago we spent thousands of GBPs on paid links from newspapers and DMOZ editors to blag our way to the top for the term 'Car Insurance'. We got banned Moneysupermarket.com didn't! There's no justice - but you shouldn't expect any anyway!

Now you've got to be either stupid or suicidal to get yourself banned these days. Yes the big boys 'Buy' paid links by the thousands on a constant and continual basis, but the won't get flagged up amongst the millions of links they've got through other time served methods. They can't 'buy' every searched for kwyword phrase and there are rich pickings for the smaller fish on the feeding grounds where the sharks hang out!

Funnily enough in reality it's the sharks who have the long tails!

So my little newbies, follow the Google webmaster guidelines and your site won't get removed!

The System teaches you to be good on your own site and hang out with the sharks!

If you have had your site removed from Google's Index take a look at this video from The Google Search Quality and SPAM team.

Google Geotargetting - Local Hosting Essential for top SERPS

As Google gets more and more localised in the SERPS it is important to remember that your host must be in the country that you are targetting.

Here's a useful tool that works out (just like google) where a website is located

Get Website Location:

Brought to you by Digital Point Solutions

They've also got some other very useful SEO tools on the site. Check out the ad network as well which is supposed to be behind some rather grey hat link building campaigns used by the top four car insurance comparison sites

GoCompare.com Google's Ghost Dance

Didn't if feel good - even for a few days, that one of the big Adwords and TV campaign money payers got a good Google slapping - Not!

see http://www.insuranceblog.co.uk - Go Compare Elsewhere!

If you analyse the hundreds of comments and blogs on the subject out there, there are possibly two lessons to learn from this mini whirlwind of SEO furore.

There is no content distribution (paid or otherwise) slap!

When a site as big as GoCompare.com changes it's structure in a large way it's rankings are affected for a few days.

OR

Google was playing games to see your reaction!

I'm not going to cancel all those poor paying affiliate schemes I set up last week in the hope of earning a few quid by ranking high for their keyword (not), but a few savvy SEO'rs made a big storm in a teacup over a small event and a few lucky ones picked up all that juicy keyword traffic for a few days!

So Who'se Next?

My money is on the moneysupermarket - they've got to either rebrand or get a mini slap sooner or later.....see you at the top of Google!

How to hide stuff from Google without black hat stuff

There's times that you are not going to want Google to see what you've written or posted on a page, the sort of stuff that you don't want Google to know about such as

1. You're doing SEO on a particular site and want to use it as an example , but posting and boasting about it on forums would be SERP suicide.

I want to prove to you that the techniques used on the system work - but I obviously don't want to tell big G that I'm dominating it.

You definitely want to avoid using any sort of script or redirect as this signals trouble! In Googles eyes there can be a very thin line between acceptable use and black hat.

The Solution is simple and right below you..........

Are paid links bad for your pocket ? Google Adwords is!

There's been a lot of rubbish talked across the net in recent week by the followers of SEO forums and Google watchers about the negative value of paid links. This has come about due to the hypocrite denizens at Googly stating that paid links violate their quality guidelines.

Quality guidelines? What a joke! after all Google wouldn't exist today without the paid link model. Do they think that Adwords links are quality? Obviously not if you and me are not allowed to follow their example of earning from our websites.

To cap it all they think that the global definition of who should link to who and on what basis should be defined by them. They've even invented their own (rel="nofollow") tag that you , the web creator, are supposed to use to indicate to Google search bots that the link is paid. Yes Google, don't follow this link because I got paid for putting it up there, just like you did!

What a joke! Like all the millions of people out there with websites and no knowledge of googles 'best practices' are going to get deindexed because they're selling links to someone who emailed them asking to pay.

So just what is Google trying to say?

That paid links are bad? That paid links are poor quality? That you are not allowed to earn from your website and have a place in our index?

What a load of Bull from the world's largest purveyor of paid links - incidently we've never bought links off of Google and strongly advise you not to do the same.
PPC campaigns are the biggest rip-off ever invented (which Google didn't but was very quick to buy into), and a drain on most marketing department budgets around thne world, with very poor ROI except for the few that dominate big keywords with their buying power.

So should you buy links?

The straightforward answer to that is......

You don't have to. It is very easy to create links on many sites favoured by Google using content distribution held on third party platforms throughout the world of social media sites.

In other words create your own.....

Create you own mini networks and link these to one another. Link all your content on third party platforms to itself and your money site.

Many webmasters are using Google's nofollow tag to keep control on how Google passes PR, keeping all the link juice within their own mini black-hole sites (no outbound links), or to deindex non-money pages on their sites by pointing all the PR juice at the pages that people buy from.

Perfectly legitimate use of a stupid tag invented by Google that has done more harm than good in weedling out paid links.

At the end of the day trying to discount paid links is as stupid as having a ranking system based on links which can and always will be manipulated, and not on quality scores for individual pages which are not weighted by the number of links that an individual or group can create to a node.

Oh yeah Google didn't anyone tell you that Page Rank is DEAD - both as a concept and as the little green bar full of disinformation that Google puts out.

Remember the Internet is just a collection of content stepping stones with links between them. Without links there is no NET.

Should we really let Google decide the shape and syntax of the net?

Especially when virtually every page of top ten results that Google serves up, particularly in Financial Services, show sites that all indulge in massive link buying campaigns, whether its from Google or Yahoo or Digital point blogs or whoever!
Truth of the matter is, the no follow tag and Google Webmaster guidelines has just led to an explosion of interest in SEO from newbies trying to out rank each other.

The big boys and Google have it all sewn up for the money keywords - now that's equitable and quality - NOT!

Get Real Google and focus on valuable CONTENT!

Follow The System - create links and buy links from relevant sites including directories. Relevancy is the only measure that will count in the long term!

SEO for Universal Search - Korean War?

We've talked about convergence of platforms and personalisation before but here's a quick recap

"Google is clever and has seen the future, and just like all the major TV networks, media corporations, phone companies, cable companies, broadband suppliers, phone makers, flat screen manufacturers, personal data devices, GPS and of course Microsoft all know that one thing is coming....

CONVERGENCE

Convergence means that you'll have your own personal preferred desktop displaying universal search items for your personality (determined by your search patterns, your buying patterns your social networking and your bookmarking or approving of STUFF), and you'll carry it or have access to it everywhere in the world with you, using any or all of those devices mentioned above and many many more!"

We've just stumbled across a very interesting film of Google CEO Eric Schmidt speaking a while ago in Korea.

Korea is one of the most technologically converged nations and is a testing ground for future Google multi level platforms.

What struck us was the message that nobody will own their personal data but it will all be hosted remotely in this 'amazing cloud' of information services, that will decide for you what you want to see and hear... and of course... Google will provide all this wonderful stuff for you... because it knows what time you visited the bathroom yesterday...and of course Schmidt Knows that the majority of the sheep around the world will buy into the Big Brother scenario.

There's a lot of interesting stuff in the 26 minute talk regarding using and exploiting social networks, which are a major Google testbed in Korea.

We checked out Schmidts background on Wikipedia and the interesting thing is that he has major background knowledge of distributed systems i.e. client server applications and now he's espousing the ultimate model of thin client with Google at the helm.

One strange commment which needs some thought and analysis is the fact that Schmidt sees all content as advertising - this is a lesson for all marketteers new and old.

Watch Eric Schmidt and listen carefully to get a top down view of the structures your marketing effort MUST include:-

Google: No Brand No Ranky - For Now

The 'Buzz' on the SEO wires at the moment is sudden awareness by many so called Guru's that Brand is the all important factor in securing a top rank spot. A lot of so called 'thin affiliates' are running scared because their spammy content free sites are targetted for extinction.

They have been for a while actually!

Where have they been?

If like us you follow the ups and downs for the most important keywords in your chosen sector, in our case financial services and insurance, you couldn't have failed to notice that the strong offline brands were floating to the top for all the most competitive keywords.
For the last two years SEO without a strong brand has proved to be pretty ineffective for the top keywords while retaining good results for the long tail keywords.
A large percentage of the conversion is in the long tail so the emergence of brand as the most dominant factor in obtaining high page rank for key words such as car insurance, has left the back door open for the more niche and long tail seo merchants.

So is it still possible to compete with the massive brands and get top rankings for holy grails such as 'car insurance'

We believe it is POSSIBLE and if anything it will probably become easier for a lot of good Seoers once they understand the forces in play that allow you to attack keywords with modern google loving links, create buzz, brand enhancement and authority building - as opposed to those methods that have led to the old established brands floating to the top.

There is the one caveat of - you do need resources that cost, but the payback is tenfold!

You have many advantages and yes - the Internet has never been a level playing field!

Megaliths are slow to respond like dinosaurs, there is usually nobody at the helm, the marketing department doesn't talk to or communicate ideas to the IT department enough.

You need to take advantage of their inability, unwillingless, inertia or large scale arrrogance that stops them being leaders in 'creating buzz' and being market drivers.

In the time it takes you to write say ten articles for blogs, article distribution, squidoo lenses , etc, hypermoneycomparer.com will have to have meetings upon meetings to implement some small change - move swiftly to exploit this weakness and keep abreast and ahead in creating social media buzz and links from the most Gooogly loved places.

These megaliths don't usually know how to create buzz or conciuosly even try to using social media, although many of them have always engaged in dubious SEO practices, they are often so big it that when they commit misdemenours, it usually doesn't hurt them. (There are a couple of famous cases of where companies such as BMW and GoCompare got penalised - it made Googly rethink its algo)

This is what you are up against:

Megaliths will create buzz naturally through their size and established affiliate programs and link network.

These brands are often household names through their TV advertising.

These brands are good generic domain names, for example

Money Supermarket - Noun / Noun
Compare the Market - Verb / Noun
Go Compare - Verb / Verb

Which combination do you think has been the most successful?

Steps to take to compete on the old terms:
Here's how not to do it :

Buy links especially from as many blogs as you can - most of your hypermoneycomparer.com sites do this consistently!

Create a large affiliate program promtoting brand

Spend lots of money on Google Adwords

Alternatively stay lean and mean and ahead of the game - follow the advice in The System and it is possible to establish yourself as a leading brand in a very short period of time.

Remember these brands were small once, I personally know a lot of the guys that founded these monsters - every one of them was built on Brand promotion - concentrating on the old skool offline way and it has worked!

At no time were any of them leaders or possessed any particular special quality in the deliverance of financial and insurance comparison products - many of them were just plagarism well executed or not - but they all managed to deliver the brand message and like in the real world - thats the only thing that wins out big time in the end!

Apparently Google now reflects This

Does Adwords spend play are role? - Yes in exposure and brand deliverence to a large audience whether they click or not.

Some of these megalith brands now spend millions every week in Adwords.
It now appears that whatever misdemenours they may commit on the SEO front, they tend not to get punished in the SERPS any more, mostly because of the power and size of their adwords spend and the relationships that are built up when account managers communicate with Google over hundreds of keywords across the board.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY and time trying to increase visibility using these PPC schemes. there are other more effective ways to spend your budget.

Brand does not equal quality. Just because its a big name it does not by definiton equal quality, unless quality is the thing it markets. Major brands can be attacked by specialised niche offerings with punch, that deliver exactly what is says on the label!

Matt Cutts - Googles Mouth or Google's Earpiece?

So who the hell is Matt Cutts? I hear the newbies ask.

Well he's the self proclaimed mouthpiece for Google - it appears.

Does he work for Google?
This used to be a question on all the blogs and forums five or so years ago.
By the look of the fact he's posting on the Google YouTube webpage these days it looks like he does, and whoever he works for he's certainly got better at YouTube videos over the years since he first started putting out Google expectations of webmaster behaviour via the site and his weblog, with his pussies on his rather larger lap!

One thing concerns me though looking at the history of his youtube offerings, is the shabby productions.
Maybe that's cool in California or Florida or wherever - still are they really up to the sort of production you'd expect from Google...hmm

Here's a very useful recent example

MATT CUTTS ON MAXIMISING & FUNNELLING DOMAIN NAME PAGE RANK

So what do we know about him.

Years ago we believe he used to post on all the forums as Googleboy and none of the SEO community of the day knew who he was for a short while. He was a bit of a lurker around the Webmaster forums, learning what the drivers of the search engine algos were, that is, the SEO community of the days, were up to.

Listening to, funnily enough 'the buzz' that Google is shouting about as being so important in the current marketing effort.
Once he was outed he started his blog and posting lots of videos and hungry webmasters crawled over his every word.
He then became the self proclaimed spam site killer and webmaster witchfinder general.

These days he's a lot thinner and more open about the way google works. He advises you to sign up to googles webmaster tools and analytics.

Be careful how you use Google Webtools and Analytics - especially is you are practising multilevel Social Media marketing.

Google used to vehemently state that the Adsense / Adwords data was seperate from the SERPS algo data and in no way influenced the SERPS

Who are they trying to kid? you've only got to look at a term such as car insurance and wonder why the sites that dominate page one are where they are? It's because the have the largest ADWORDS spend!!
Apply this to you giving them info about your site.
Well for one thing it tells them that you are engaged in SEO - is that a good thing?

Anyway back to Cutts. He's no great marketing guru but he's a good sounding board as to what Google thinks important and where they are taking measures - which if you are savvy you can exploit.

Is Matt Cutts For real - yeah sort of, you should for instance take a very good look at the way he talks about the LINK element in the above video.

Tip - Many top ranking sites are using a version of this to point search engines to their rss or blog pages as an alternative homepage and effectively getting their tired old website listed as a blog!

But to us he has always been just a ploy to leverage feedback from the real gurus, to make sure that Googles control mechanisms are functioning in the right areas and the cleverer webmasters, checked back.

Authority Sites - How to gain trust through Links

Authority comes with time and trust and newer sites are subject to more filters from Google than older established ones.

The more trust your website gains with Google the less it becomes filtered & the easier you’ll find it to rank.

Many believe Google has added the TrustMark Algorithm to it’s SERP algo.

Many also believe that Google has a ‘Sandbox’ to test new domains and pages.
This may or may not be the case because if you follow the system methods you will rank high in record times Sandbox free!

There are 2 basic ways to beat or avoid these filters & rank your site higher and quicker in Google.
1. Build natural strong links from relevant authority sites in a naturally growing continual pattern
2. Buy an aged domain or website with authority already and develop it one step beyond. This method has much more rapid results and ROI on aged domain name investment.

The starting point of the Trust algorithm is the categorisation by hand of certain long established and trusted websites and pages, that are then scored by a team of quality control users.
Three to four years ago Google started employing students and others from all around the globe to establish a quality team that referenced pages by hand.
It's results were first noticeable to those running the Google Adsense program, many of whom sites came under human scrutiny and subsequently came under fire in Google updates such as Florida and Jagger.
Similarly all the top ranking pages for high paying Adwords Keywords such as ‘Car Insurance’ and ‘Mortgages’ at $50+ per click, were looked at by a team and classified under the Google version of the Trustmark Algo.
These sites and pages became the foundation of trust for Google and was incorporated into the main SERP algo and PR algo.

Trust like PR can be transferred to other website or page by linking to it. Trust is spreading throughout the net in the same way as PageRank has, and is consequently effected in the SERPS as spammy sites are ignored and quality authority established.

The more links you can get from established authority sites which carry trust the richer your pickings……

Google has all seeing eye aspirations - Googly is bored!

Googles raison d'etre once upon a time was to acquire as much knowledge as possible and to assimilate that knowledge to deliver the information it deems the most appropriate. Google doesnt mind the collective SEO mind influencing results. For a laugh it changes the rules and either rewards the interacters for enhancing its filtering or penalises perpetrators for daring to meddle with the machine. Tee Hee

Or so it went

Bow down for a moment google as your power was partially usurped by the social media platforms, but congrats on blogger and YouTube the heart of your current mission station.

You've even unbanned some of our incredibly successful sites, we admit were using some leading edge grey stuff, still we did help to enhance the algorithm, didnt we!

But poor old googly has got bored with the same old human knowledge, have you ever tried to teach your grandmother to suck eggs.

Google wants to SEE (Youtube, Google earth, googly maps, google images, ggoogly videos etcetc google any bloody picture thing)

and Google wants to hear (You Tube, and all social media platforms where collectives of peoples of all shapes and sizes are deciding what is relevant!)

White equals Black - The magic circle is squared

Are you a goody goody White Hat Markeeter who thinks he never does anything 'wrong' or are you a Black Hat Marketing Demon who plays anarchy with the system?

Made your mind up yet - its all so Black or White isn't it.

Drawn your boundary?

Pigeon-holed yourself?

Well it's time to remove your head from your arse and have the truth revealed to you, so we can put this one to bed and concentrate on the work involved.

There are so called 'black hat techniques' that will ultimately get you banned. There are some definite no-no's that even newbies and 'white hats' should be made aware of. These techniques are real and they work. Many of them are used as part of the Internet marketing mix by large internet companies who occupy No.1 positions on Google for every keyword they desire.

The System will describe these techniques to you and show you the big companies employing no-no's. We will also explain to you how they get away with it.

As for White hats - by definition we suppose you've got to say these are a group of individuals who stick rigidly to the webmaster guidelines of Google, or to what they percieve is their understanding of Googles rules. They are Sheep and they are not white. Has anyone ever seen one of their websites - We doubt it very much!

The Truth is .................

There is no White Hat.

Nous avons Tous Les Mains Sales

Anyone who reads Google's webmaster guidelines has dirtied their hands. They are engaged in the art of improving their SERPs.

Whether they are clever about it or sheep - they are GREY

Search Engine Marketing - You are responsible for your SERP

Ok Anyone who thinks that the Google Algo decides where you rank in Google is mistaken and had better rethink quick!

You are the master of your own position!

What you see as Search engine pages results when you type in keywords to Googlgle et al, is not the result of the Google algo or any decision by the Googly gods, it is result of the efforts of the marketeers targetting those keywords.

Google makes decisions based upon the mechanisms of its algorithm. The steering wheel is firmly in your hands.

Over the coming weeks and months The System will completely demystify Google completely and show you how you can legally and without penalisation manipulate 'The System' to your competitive advantage. You will learn to drive!

Why are we telling you this secret stuff?

The answer is simple - no-one can outgun us in any area that we choose to compete in!

Secondly we are looking for long term joint marketing ventures and you 'our pupils' are our future multi-millionaire JV's.
