Understanding The Flow of Link Power Between Websites
In order to understand how to manipulate the power of link juice, it is first necessary to understand some basic principles of network analysis.
Mapping The Internet
The Internet is a virtual and physical manifestation analogous of the conceptual frameworks defined to measure the real world. In other words it is the same as our existing models for mapping real world connectivity.
You can see from the map above that all the principles for analysing transportation networks apply exactly to the Internet.
Bingo!
From the map you can immediately deduce the dendronitic or tree like 'hierarchical' star clusters located around very high traffic nodes that define the central core!
By definition as this is a traffic view of the Internet the large star clusters defining the centre of the Internet are equivalent to the Alexa traffic rankings in star size or nodal magnitude.
These websites are nearly all Web 2.0 properties where you can place your content with embedded links, thus creating a network structure that is sapping the juice from the Web 2.0 properties.
If your placed content is good then it will attract more traffic and 'juice up' your network of links, which shoud be aimed at your 'moneysite'.
You can further enhance your web 2.0 network by 'flowing ' RSS feed along it at regular intervals. RSS Link/Flow connections will occur naturally as other websites publish your 'quality' content!
Thus to be successful at Social media marketing you need to position your website at the centre of the Internet. By connecting to and having a keyword rich relevant profile on all of the top Social Media and Social Networking websites - you are doing just that!
Losers - Notice also how the losers are defined in cybersapce traffic as being peripheral, stuck up some blind amazonian tributary, life on the edge.
The Third Commandment from Google written in stone on the tablet of Quality Guidelines is:
Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.
In plain english this literally means if you link or receive links from another website with the intent to increase your nodal magnitude what Google calls Pagerank - then you will be penalised !
Which is absolutely ludicrous because every webpage and website in the world engages in this act of defiance simply by linking. Therefore all links break this rule by definition. Of course some break it more than others! The rule itself is against the natural order of the Internet and Google realised this a long time ago (In 2004 to be precise!) which is why it introduced other 'Wisdom of the Crowd' filters into the mechanism which produces what you call SERPS
A brief history of Search Engine Ranking
Prior to Web 2.0 ALL links were either created, submitted, traded or bought! Now they are either given or placed in content!
All mature marketers were breaking this rule before Google even existed or insisted upon the illogical rule as a measure of quality.
Directory submissions were the first thing that breaks the Google rule that most marketers did back in the early noughties before Google was born. Directory submissions were the sure fired way to get some 'authority' quickly and they were the only way to get good listings in search engines. Search Engines in those days were effectively directories themselves before they either moved on to becoming portals or their client base got swallowed up into a larger engine! Big names of the day included: Compuserve, AOL, Yahoo.com, Lycos, Alta Vista, Excite (The Overture Group), Ask etc etc.......
No Google! No Twitter! etc etc.....
The eternal problem Google has is that it employs 'wisdom of the crowd' mechanisms and a measure of quality and truth. Sure the wisdom of the crowd mechanisms will expose the most obvious devious linking, but the problem remains the same and in fact has been exacerbated in the last couple of years with the development of many offshoot specialist services designed specifically to outfox the search engine filters and crowd wisdom.
Google does not have a chance in the face of collective collaboration which can set the truths and the rankings for itself.
Collective collaboration has espoused a whole new set of fixers! in the form of outsourced link building or forum posting or directory submissions and the much more worringly organised phenomena known as 'Crowdsourcing'.
You can beat all the Google Wisdom of The Crowd Filters if you employ enough resources to spread the message and content (read links) as far around the Internet as possible - After all the crowd cannot be wrong can it!
So we've got crowds of people flinging sh*t around the Internet and he who fling the most wins! - After all the crowd cannot be wrong can it! Organised Crime?
I got approached today to join a crowd of the 'so called' very best at what I do, a super elite, who are going to collaborate to dominate Google for the keyword News. The client is a very famous global multi-national TV station.
I said I was too busy. Not that I am competing for their keywords!
I am busy , but Hey! Keep out of my areas, cos at the end of the day - 100 of you versus me - bring it on!
Where did the crowds get their wisdom from in the first place? An Individual! Collective Individuality is only as good as its components!
Besides it's so easy to create a crowd of experts on the social media platform!!
There is no power in the wisdom of the crowd when the accepted truth is based on manipulation, which is why SERPS will always be in a flux!
As for Collective Collaboration - Should it be allowed?
Yeah! Let's ban all networking, networks, communication and education; shall we Google?
Before you can start to build keyword optimised networks of inbound links utilising amongst other things, social media and web 2.0 properties, you need to ensure that you have a keyword optimised webpage on a keyword optimised website, otherwise when you come to constructing the network of links it will be like trying to fit the wrong pieces of a jig-saw puzzle together.
Although I'm not going to talk about networks of optimized links today, bear in mind that these networks are not static link structures - most of them are arteries carrying content in the form of dynamic RSS.
Optimised keyword networks are living growing dendronitic type organisms, rather like coral but multi-dimensional. They live in Cyberspace and feed on content! They grow through their virility. Each node or webpage in the network connects in star patterns to another node or website. At the end or root is the target page.
OK, a web page is a node in the hierarchical tree structure and in an optimised linking network, all nodes will have the same property - the one keyword that links them. Yes that's right the ONE keyword.
You need to create these structures for EVERY logical keyword....
Which is a LOT of work!
However if you want it to be optimised and isn't that what SEO is about, then there are no short cuts!
So lets look at the structure of a keyword optimised page:
In the above example you will see that the website ranking in position 1 on Google has a logical connectivity to the keyword search term. In fact it is an exact match and that is why it is optimised. It is fully optimised on-page and deserves it's place on the Google throne for being exactly what is says it is.
And here is why.....
On an optimised website the root or home page should be of the highest logical order of the subject matter of the page. In this example 'Car Insurance'
If you logically then chunk the root down into the next level of logical keywords, amongst that set of keywords is the qualifying term 'Classic Car Insurance'.
If you then combine two sets of keywords at this level , for example Classic and a lower order of 'Car Make' Citroen, you have the logical folder 'Citroen Classic Car Insurance', container, call it what you want for old citroens!
On an optimised website you would have the file structures and file nomenclatures that you see on the above example at Number One. They would be naturally sub-divided into their most logical relational sets and named accordingly.
We have to assume that Google data storage methods and spider robots collecting data appreciate the most logical underlying structures....and the results show us that they DO!
If you get your logical structures correct, the navigation flows naturally and in the most spider friendly fashion, and the use of Keyword anchor link text to connect the logical units completes the Internal network structures in the hierarchical, siloised, ordered, keyword containers called webpages!
To complete the task you need to have the following on page SEO tasks performed
1. Keyword in the Title 2. Keyword in the Header Description 3. Keyword on page body and in on page titles 4. Keywords in Tags if appropriate 5. keyword in the link to the next page in the chain or the target page.
Once you've got your site and pages optimised, you can start on the fun part of link building using optimised keyword networks.............. Beat The System

People still ask me 'Is it worth getting into The Open Directory?' or 'How do I get into DMOZ?'
Some of these people are seasoned professional webmasters!
For those of you who are not familiar DMOZ.org or the (not so) Open Directory is a multi-hand edited website directory, siloised by category, hierarchically within regional parameters. Each silo has its own human editor.
Google has used it amongst other things as a basis for Google Web Directory (not serps) for five or six years now. It can be considered to be a directory of authority sites.
Why does Google like it?
Simple! it's hand edited and can be used as a basis for trust and assigned authority!
An entry into DMOZ tells Google that you are exactly what it says on the tin. There's no Spam in the DMOZ superstore, except for perhaps the odd site owned by the rogue editor.
So here's my take on DMOZ.
A listing is essential to establish credibility and authority quickly. A listing will give you at least a Google 1PR extra, or its SERPS link juice equivalent, if you are a small site. A listing will get you
Here's the paradox! Don't expect lots of traffic! Why? Because from my experience not that many people use DMOZ directly for search or anything else much from what I can see, except for stealing data (page sucking or using API's) to create new directories, or for submitting new sites.
Given that, DMOZ still has an Alexa traffic rank of 764 today, which puts it within the most visited and most important websites in the world.
So you definitely need to be in it!
But how do you get into the Open Directory?
Submission It's basically a lottery and depends upon the availability or attitude of the scrutineer (editor) of the chosen category that you must personally visit and submit to. WARNING: Never submit more than once or you will be moving you site to the bottom of the queue! Don't wait around for results you could be reading War and Peace and growing a beard before you might get listed. Submit and forget!
Be warned! Long established commercial or product specific categories are particularly difficult to get a listing!
There are alternatives....
1. If you offer a unique or unusual service where there is little competition you stand a fair schance of getting an entry by product or service category - as long as you submit to the right generic category!
2. Go Local! Say you own a nationwide car insurance business but cannot get it listed under Insurance > Motor >..... If your business is located in Swansea Wales try entering it under regional > Uk > Wales West Glamorgan > local business or whatever....
Any entry in DMOZ is worthwhile because even if you are not in your chosen preferential category, local listings will get you into the mix for the searches carried out over the DMOZ database for your keywords; assuming you've done the Directory entry bit right from an SEO point of view. This includes searches by Google!
One of the major reasons that DMOZ is pure link gold is because many many directory builders and so called spammers, now suck data straight out of DMOZ and your links get spread all over the place - for free!
Killer Press Release Tactics for Internet Marketing
Understanding Press Releases for Internet Marketing
Press Releases are an essential piece of kit for an Internet Marketer, and if you do not include a PR campaign as part of your marketing system and Internet Marketing mix, your competitiors will have an big edge on you. PR's are excellent for establishing immediate credibility with Google and the Search engines.
PR’s are great for getting your message out to many syndicated websites through RSS feeds. They are especially good for building up long term backlinks and getting lots of links from highly ranked authority sites.
Contributions should be written in a journalistic style and the copy should be about something new or an interesting development. The content can be about anything.
PRWeb.com – paid press releases vary in price from $80 to $200 per release. The more expensive releases offer keyword hyperlinks with additional social bookmarking and media services. Allows Geo-targetted distribution and is the Daddy of online PR much respected by the Search Engines(SEs.
TIP - Be sure to include the full URL path to get the benefit of a hyperlink e.g http://www.the-system.org
TIP - Max of three hyperlinks per PR which should be between 500 and 800 words. The first hyperlink you put in will be the one displayed with the Press Release unless you change sidebar options.
PRlog.org – Same process as the above paid version, human edited, free PR. Takes a little time and does not have the RSS distribution channels the paid version has. However worth the effort if done frequently and good for keeping costs down.
For continual Buzz you really need to release a minimum of 1 PR every month. If you want to hit it hard, you will need to do one interesting paid release every week and a few free ones. Be sure to include Technorati Keyword tags in the release and some images if possible
Press releases are also a backdoor into Google News results that appear in Universal Search. PR's are an essential part of conversation domination, the more Universal Search results that show up - the further down the rank your competitors are pushed!
SEO GoogleTesting reveals Social Bookmarking & Blog spam gives Top SERPS!
Just to let you know that The System has noticed while testing that Google SERPS are currently definitely favouring Wisdom of crowds and noise results, such as social bookmarking and blog spam.
I've today seen some bookmarking tag pages show up on the first page of Google for highly competitive keywords - clipmark seems to be in favour at the moment - personally I think its probably due to the enormous amount of people using automated social bookmarking tools.
It'll be interesting to see how long the spam lasts for .... the problem is one wave of spammers is constantly followed by another....it's the wisdom of the cheap Indian labour force... and there are a billion of them!!
Google Global Domination - Dark Forces Are At Play!
ORDER = HIERARCHY HIERARCHY = AUTHORITY AUTHORITY = ORDER
All of them = RANK
This basic triangle is the basic principle of the system.
If you have optimized order you naturally have authority and rank!
Those of you who have been following my thoughts on the system may well be wondering, "what's that all about then? wizards, magic, astral projection? Has he gone off his rocker?"
Today all will be revealed?
First I want to ask you a question, that I want you to consider and think about very carefully and honestly before you answer it?
Before you answer the question I want you to consider amongst many things the following
Ethics, morals, right and wrong, black and white, sheep and The wisdom of the Crowd and how your feelings and judgements are shaped by the actions of other people around you - affecting you.
You need to decide in binary - YES or NO - no qualifiying rational, black hat or white hat - just a simple yes or no.......
OK here's the question in its basic form.
Is it right to profit from knowledge that has been obtained by dark forces and genocide?
Thought about it yet?...
If you think the answer is YES keep reading
If you think the answer is NO - don't read anymore of this post
OK
THE DARK LORD OF SPATIAL ANALYSIS
Today we are going to take you to the other side, the dark side, the negative, the void, Chaos - the nagual - Hell! A place where things are forcibly ordered to an optimal spatial structure regardless.
Every profession has one, beleive it or not, a Frankenstein, a Dr Jeckyll or a Joseph Mengele to keep the theme Gothic.
Spatial Analysis is no different
I'd like to introduce you to the Dark Lord of Spatial Analysis
The man whose evil work will show you how to understand order, hierarchy and authority and how to manipulate it to dominate Google rankings!
The dark wizard who will make you see that the Internet is NOT Google Centric, but in a forced Google centric world, its easy to put yourself at the centre for a keyword!
Do you still want to know?
Before I whisper the name of he who shall not be mentioned, I'd just like to take the opportunity of warning you that this man's thoughts were responsible for the enslavement and deaths of millions of people less than a century ago!
Christaller was a German geographer and member of the Nazi party (he later joined up with Stalin), who invented Central Place Theory
Christaller's Central Place Theory redefined the models for location in space, and set the standards for modern spatial analysis. The theory demonstrates how a node on a network dominates through size, connectivity and traffic the markets of the surrounding nodes (all of which can be measured) and how a nodal order of authority is established which is self controlling in an ordered hierarchical structure - perfect for Nazi planning! The above diagram is Christaller's original document for the Spatial Ordering of Southern Germany in 1933, which has become a modern classic in Economic Geography University departments around the world. He later went on to re-organize most of Central Europe!
Essential also, for an understanding of Web 2.0 authority websites of all rank and size, hierarchical structures, how they rank, and how to interact with them (connect, link, contribute) in order to obtain the best authority order on higher authority sites for certain keywords!
The essence of Christaller's theory is that the bigger you are - the more influence you have in dominating those around you! - well you would expect that from a Nazi and you can see why Hitler bought into Christaller's theory in as much as the whole Fatherland was planned around Central Place Theory! Stalin liked what he saw too!
This applies equally to markets in any HOMOGENISED network such as the Internet where space (and time) are outside the equation for structural order when applied to rankings. A google.co.uk will produce different results defined by spatial parameters, however these are only a subset of the controlling Google.com - the overall wisdom of the crowd - centralised!
How Christaller would have loved the Internet to play with! I wonder if he'd have helped kill so many websites as he did Europeans, in the enforced structures that he would propose upon the NET....
More on this and the implications for Internet Marketing very soon..........
Tagging and Keyword Classification from a computers point of view
Here's a very interesting old post that I want you to read about how Internet users decide to tag pages and the consequent new folksonomy or categorisation of computer data, that has grown up around it.
What it demonstrates from a marketing point of view, is that the most used search terms must equal the most tagged page with that term - folksonomy therefore depends upon the wisdom of the crowd! (which of course can be manipulated!)
Watching Googles SERPs being manipulated - Blog Spam and how to do it properly
We don't teach you these trick's here, well we do actually, but what we don't do is advocate them for long term SERP success at Google and definitely not for creating an optimized network structure.....however these tactics will bring you short term success and if the keyword is rich enough - lots of filthy lucre.
You do have to spend quite a bit of money upfront on Indian SEO services though, but if you do it right and more importantly in the right places, then the riches can be milked from the traffic before you get whacked by Google....even better if you let someone else do all the work (like the Indians), but we'll talk about that later..... So what am I talking about?
In a couple of words - Web 2.0 comment spam! Blog Link Spam!
I'm talking about paying lots of Indians (under the pathetic guise of SEO services) to go and make hundreds or thousands of comments on blogs (and other social media websites) that allow you to, all over the world, thus building up authority via the wisdom of crowds that Googles ranking algo relies upon.
More explicitly the wisdom of the crowds that is determined through one way links from authority sites using Kansky's algorithm of nodal authority.
So who is doing this and where is it working?
(Did I detect squirms from many of our readers? - don't worry its not you we're outing today!)
Unless you are Australian! (Cmon chaps the Ashes is starting isn't it!!!)
I'm going to show you an example of who is doing this, how it works and also how to take advantage of someone elses spam!
Right, one of first things we teach here at The System is to keep an eye on your keywords, particularly the SERPs for your targetted keywords. Pay particular attention to who else is in the market - your competition - who are they? why are they there? where are they getting their links from?
So when we started to see an AUSTRALIAN Website shooting up the rankings for a very competitive keyword - we want to know WHY?
More importantly we want to confirm our suspicions, because we remembered the cheeky POMS had spammed our blogs a few weeks before! (By the ways it's you Australians that are POHM'S - Prisoners Of Her Majesty)
So who are we talking about- well a website that has been giving Moneysupermarket.com a run for it's money (on SEO services).....
Ratedetective.com.au!
Check out their backlinks on Yahoo.com Spam and drill down for links to a particular product that they have been spamming like Income Protection
Visit the blogs and you will see that they have made lots of posts using Indian SEO services, using the keyword Income protection thus benefiting from the name/site link alllowed on most blogs. They've mostly signed up as a user, which takes a minute, to take advantage of the keyword user name.
Cheeky Aussie gits - it's not the way to do things long term and if you don't keep the buzz up it will soon drop off - keep an eye of the sites rankings in Google!
Here's a link for Income protection as they, and a few other Choice Australians I could mention, seem to be hitting it as hard as Moneysupermarket do!
TIP - Take advantage of all those millions of SEO Indians hard work in finding these FFA links and post away to your hearts content - if you can't beat them - join them
SO HERE'S HOW TO GET LINKS PROPERLY WITHOUT PENALTY
Now here's how to do it using optimized networks constructed of RSS! (don't bother to click the link - it's a recursive one to make sure I still rank No.1 for that term when people start to copy my ideas!
Think RSS! it satisfies the 4 necessities demanded by the wisdom of the crowds!
RSS is the wisdom of the crowd - you dont PUSH it on people - People CHOOSE it!
Google’s revealed that the advanced SEO practice of PageRank sculpting will be far less effective as it’s changed the rules on nofollow.
For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of PageRank sculpting, here’s a brief explanation.
Let’s assume we have a web page that carries a Google PageRank of 8. (PageRank is Google’s assessment of a pages importance on a scale of 0 – 10).
If this web page links to 4 other pages within the site, it’s believed that it then parses equal amounts of its PageRank on to the destinations pages via the links (i.e. each page receives 2 of its 8 PR points).
PageRank Sculpting involves the use of nofollow tags on links to control where the PageRank value flows within a website. So if two of the links above had nofollow tags added, then the other 2 pages would get 4 of the original pages PR points.
pr-sculpting
So as you can see – webmasters could bolster the PageRank (and hopefully Google Ranking) of certain pages in a website through controlling PR flow.
Well Google’s public SEO voice, Matt Cutts, has revealed that Google’s management of nofollow has changed – potentially rendering the practice of basic PageRank sculpting useless. (NOTE: sculpting can involve more than just using nofollow)
According to Cutts, Google will no longer allow webmasters to build up link juice and funnel it to certain pages. If nofollow is used on links, the other pages wont get a PR boost – instead they’ll just receive the same PR value they would have, if all the links were followed.
So alas – this could be the end of PR sculpting as we know it. Given the announcement was made during a Q&A session at a conference; webmasters will be waiting patiently for an official statement on the policy from Google.
Will this change to nofollow impact your SEO efforts? If you’re currently use PageRank Sculpting - share some other ways you manage the flow of PR on your website…
Hmm
Well if you've been following the systems analysis of order you would know that we dont agree with the way that Google is supposed to parse PR as described within, however keeping an eye on Mr Cutts is worthwhile!
What is useful is this.
In an internet marketing optimized network structure, the links would be single keyword connectors , one to a page named the same. If there are no other links out then all the link juice flows to the desired funnel tip - your money page.
The Recursive or Infinite Loop - Power RSS Marketing
What came first - the chicken or the egg?
Today I want to tell you a secret about the recursive loop or infinite loop.
In laymans language a recursive loop is - A link back to yourself - you probably even do a little bit of it yourselves already on your home sites navigation! You most certainly are trying to achieve this very end in your link building practices!
In programming terms a recursive loop is a no-no in structured sequential logic, as the program would never end, although clever programmers use the function to do clever stuff!
In systems terms it's also usually a no-no because infinite repitition is not what is usually required! You certainly would not expect to see recursive loops in an optimized linking network, would you?
Well guess what?!!
for Internet Marketers a recursive loop is
GOLDDUST!
Why?
2 little words I mentioned earlier - infinite repetition!
Imagine a system that would generate infinite repetition of links (with no duplicate penalties)
Well guess what folks - It already exists and it's OUT THERE - you just need to learn how to put the components together
You are so going to want to buy our system ! It's coming soon and it's going cheap! I want everyone to know about this!
The Secret YouTube RSS Feed! Video Pipes for marketing
As Nick says "when I ran across this..."
Wow - in part two of The System we are going to show you how to mash up and use RSS feeds for chunking large volumes of links around the web automatically using optimized network structures, but for those of you who are into video marketing- watch this!
To understand optimized network structures and their role in delivering top SERPS you first need to understand the role of optimisation within systems design. ( apologies for the spelling of optimisation but we use an s not a z in England! - cool for double keywords though!)
When designing systems, a role of the analyst is to identify and remove bottlenecks within the system, particularly those that involve data flow, and those practitioners amongst you will be familiar with such techniques as DFDs for functional decomposition analysis of processes.
An optimized network structure for Internet Marketing performs the same parallel process - it gets the message to the right ears from the right sources in the least time via the shortest route.
Here's some further reading to get you in the zone!
Chain of Fools - Optimised network structures will get you top SERPS!
Underneath it all – Its all about LINKS – Nothing more, Nothing Less!
Google wants to be Quality. We want it to be Quality!
But!
Googles ranking system depends upon for quality, the principles defined in the notion of The Wisdom Of The Crowd. Otherwise nobody would believe anything!
If you transform this theory to Spatial Analysis and apply it, you have an equivalent theorum - Kanskys theorum of Nodal Order – a formula for deriving the order of importance of related objects in space and for measuring relative location in space.
This Kanskian theory like The wisdom of the crowds, depends upon link voting and is the basis for the Google ranking algorithm!
However this voting system has nothing to do with quality when you apply it to Cyberspace and in particular how Google ranks its pages!
Because the underlying principle on which it is based is flawed – flawed because it can easily be manipulated by the likes of you and me!
Google is North Korea Flawed because votes in a democracy can be fixed (the number and volume of links in) People are Sheep Flawed because there is no prerequisite for quality in the original votes (links) People follow the crowd and the Foolishness of the Crowd will win out due to the Law of Large Numbers. However what is true today does not have to be true tomorrow. (The volume of links will always win out over quality due to the law of large numbers). People aggregate to the centre because they are sheep and cannot make up their own minds and would rather other people did it for them ! Great lets exploit that!
Google is The Lord of The Flies – (Don’t be a Piggy) Flawed because like Darwin suggested, survival of the fittest, mob rule and marginalisation of those who don’t toe the party line is central to Googalian thinking. (those with no links or without the right connections will be eliminated!)
Content is the Node Call it what you want, lets functionally decompose it or chunk it down…
Portal, website, webpage, content, content object. Its all a node!
Content is king because content is the meta-attribute of the thing you are measuring – a web page. Apart from the links in and out which define aggregated content in a spatial order, what else is there that could Google could possibly measure for a base level quality score?
So does Google measure Content?
Sure - But only as an attribute of the vessel it sits in - but NOT as a measure of connectivity of the vessel – geddit
Attributes of the page which can be measured include things like interaction with the page , bounce rate etc are human actions directly related to the construct and objects on the page. But these are just attributes and do not significantly affect the underlying principles for categorising pages – links, and logically only come into play as a ranking factor when they achieve votes from the public as visits (traffic).
But Google cannot and never has, used traffic as a ranking factor other than the way in which it is incorporated into FLOW POTENTIAL between nodes by links as defined by network analysis.
How can you construct an algorithm from scratch that measures FLOW when a conceptual network has no flow! All you can do is measure it’s POTENTIAL to carry flow and its FLOW DIRCTION –
MORE LINKS – HIGHER RANKS – MORE TRAFFIC – MORE SALES
It’s as simple as that.
CHAIN CHAIN CHAIN
The chain of fools
Link, link, link away to you hearts content but 99% of you out there are TOTALLY wasting your time!
Hang on – Didn’t you just say that it’s volume of links that count!
Sure did, but as I’ve been telling you all along throughout this Blog It’s all about KEYWORDS
The ONLY attribute that a link possesses at the Server/Webpage level is the KEYWORD
The keyword is the CONNECTOR at BOTH ENDS! of the PIPE (or should be in an optimised structure)
The keyword has DIRECTION
If you string 5 pieces of content together with the SAME keyword link you are creating a micro society for that keyword, a community. You are also adding value to the keyword as a measure of interest or importance, in a notional sense you are contributing to it’s attribute score for internal goggle classification scoring.
You are adding FLOW and in Kanskian terms aggregated PR in a snowball effect picking up volume every time it passes through a node – like a train!
And guess what trains run on !
Yes Railways - Organised structured networks of the least resistance – so lets build one!
Here’s some of the things we are going to show you in THE SYSTEM
Tips and Lessons of best network structures
Lesson - You only PASS link value if the keywords linking out on the page are the same, e.g. two links with the same keyword CONNECTING two different nodes.
Lesson - Too many keyword links on a page and you are devaluing the connectivity between the linking pages and the content that surrounds them!
Understanding how to PROFIT Link bait and juice – exactly what it says on the tin – designed to get inbound links to your page through content – better content – more links (why quality will always win out with the wisdom of the crowd in a homogenised population). Well show you how to create linkbait network structures!
Googles Biggest Headache! Artificial inflation of links in a non homogenised population such as cyberspace is admittedly Googles biggest problem, because it distorts the wisdom of the crowd!
Done properly, once in place it CANNOT be altered due to the Law of Large Numbers, without a Tsunami in the way if INTERNET ORDER
This is good and bad – So lets take advantage and play within the rules - lets create our own link juice and go swimming in it!– lets turn those link juice taps on and PIPE them to your pages!
So that’s what we are going to do! Show you how to create nuclear linking structures that rip up Google Algo!
It’s Google’s Achilles heel (it’s only one)
Get the best links from the most important Web 2.0 properties and you will gradually see something magical happening – lift off!
The reason I think this approach is BS is because it is trying to define through supposition and preposition something that is already defined and cannot be changed when it enters the Google PROCESS and that is Order or Rank!
Remember! We are not looking for a transformation value!
The Ranking Value has ALREADY been decided by the linking structures!
That my friends is the secret of THE SYSTEM and when you see how we take advantage of this, frankly I think you are going to wet yourselves!
A small step towards explaining the system that allows you to dominate search engine rankings at will - continually and with no penalty.
The wisdom of crowds is a social theory that hypothesises that if you put enough people of a diverse set into a unionised set (or population as it becomes) the wisdom of crowds will give you an accurate score of truth and quality.
Any marketing campaign that wishes to manipulate the keyword sort function of google we must therefore presuppose has to obey all the rules of definition of the wisdom of crowds, and at the same time not satisfy any of the errors.
Who want's to be a millionaire? (WE ALL DO YEAH!) Ask the Audience! wisdom of the crowd (thats me Tarrant's throttling by the way! now thats another story about being TOO clever)
Think about how this applies to Internet Marketing
we've given you enough clues - the rest you are going to have to pay for!
not just yet though...
So here's the answers to a couple of components of the system that I've been teasing you about for the last few days
These two words describe part of the structure of the system that rips google open like a can opener, by taking advantage of the underlying mathematical structures of the web, that Google cannot change and are not determined by Google, but upon which Google relies to present search results.
When we release the system in a couple of months time you will learn how to apply the wisdom of crowds to your Internet marketing strategies!
BIG TIP - when thinking about all the implications of the wisdom of crowds, instead of thinking of the crowd set as people - think of it as webpages - or more speciifcally - CONTENT!
Within C - all those with the order of 1 are authority sites
Oh wow - yours has 5!
If you look at the network diagram you will also see that you can have wrong linking structures - ones that actually do you damage in the SERPS! (In network flow terms these are links that take too long a path to the moneysite for the kew=yword tem and effectively - dilute the message!
You can also have TOO many links that are inefficiently channelling the juice to the wrong places!!
When we release The System we will show you how to build the optimal link structure for SERPS. When you've built your optimal network structure, we will show you how to leverage all your content for viral syndication, getting you thousands of free links from around the globe instantly. The system then shows you how to channel massive amounts of web 2.0 propety link juice to your money site!
Publishing articles on ezinearticles.com seems to be the rage for marketers of every niche and product out there.
but how do you stand out from the crowd and get extra link love from the host?
Well, the answer is actually staring you in the face like most things on the Internet.
Let's take a look at one of my favourite niches and one of the most competitive in the world! (
Car Insurance!!
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the MOST PUBLISHED articles section .
Scroll down to the bottom again and you will see the first article example in it's most published position.
Now I've told you all this it will probably change, but the principle is the same for any article in those sections
Most Published
How did it get there?
simple.......
1. It's quality information but it actually gets all these extra ezine pages pointing to it because it is the most published article in that section.
Why is it the most published?
Because we have syndicated it across hundreds of web 2.0 properties that are on theme! Most visited
You'll also see that you can get the same result or double if its the same article by being in the most viewed article section.
how do you get this?
Well this one is not so easy, short of getting all you mates to read it!
But thanks to some tactics from one of our followers at http://www.twitter.com/paulmoran we found @listwarrior who tweets links to his ezinearticles.
easy huh!
Furthermore, by syndicating your articles across the web you are not only going to be the most published, but are also naturally going to rank in the most viewed category as more people have more doorways to find you. You are also empowering your article within ezines, by empowering ezines itself, because you are passing lots of linkjuice back to it from the sites where it is syndicated to a node at ezines that you have some control over.
95% of Business blogs abandoned! Jump in for free backlinks!
Well the cat is out of the bag so we might as well tell you how to take advantage of this while it's still hot.
So 95% of business blogs are abandoned - Great!
you can help them not to be zapped by blogger, wordpress.com, blogr etc by.....
posting links to your moneysite - all over them!
Yes these great web 2.0 properties set up mostly by marketers like ourselves to game the system (See Howie!) are ready made tools, that in many cases are being bookmarked etc, for you to get loads of great PR free links from.
Here's what we do!
1. Check out who your competitors are and go to yahoo.COM 2. type site:http://www.yourcompetitorssite 3. click on backlinks (from all urls) 4. scroll through the pages until you find blog posts - there are usually lots of them 5. visit the blog and see if you can post to it. (most marketers blogs allow this function) 6. You are really looking for blogs that the last post was 2008 or earlier 7. Make some good quality comments about the subject and include your links. 8. sign out and sign in again as another blogger 9. Make some more posts on different posts on the same blog! 10. sit back and watch your rankings rise and your competitors fall!
Extra Tip - when you have finished posting on all the posts on the abandoned blog, take the RSS and submit it to pingomatic or some similar service!!
Have Fun and say some nice things about your competitiors who are handing their linkjuice to you!
This is a great place to start to find authority sites for web 2.0 Internet marketing.
Google feeds on all these sites (look at their caches!) and those that are being weighed into by online marketeers seen mto be the flavour of the moment for Googles taste. The reason for this is simple - link generation, website physical magnitutude and buzz!
A good trick for finding out where the Web 2.0 action currently is is to search for highly competitive keywords like Viagra or car insurance and see where the marketeers are piling in!
Google is lying about Page Rank and Linking! The Truth is out there!
Somewhere on the Google webmaster (sic) tools section, I can't care to or remember exactly where it says this, but you'll also find many online repetitions of the unending LIE
"A website cannot affect another websites rankings by linking to it"
LIE LIE LIE!
Google invented Page Rank!
LIE LIE LIE!
If you read just the words of the above statements and listen to the little bits of disinformation that Google puts out through channels and mouthpieces such as Matt Cutts, you could possible argue that the semantics of the statements were true!
However underneath it all it is one BIG LIE!
And here is why!
Lets look at the second big lie that Google invented Page Rank first.
Here's what really happened when Google was just a functional specification!
A couple of young Stamford students were looking for a ranking algorithm to describe the order of objects located in cyberspace, so they could present them on a web page described as search results. They turned to a much more older and VERY unknown discipline for ordering the importance of objects in space, which evolved in the 1950's as a sub sub branch of (Geographical) Mathematics in this sub order:
Mathematics - Topology - Graph theory - Set theory - Spatial Analysis
In 1963 a young Geographer named Kansky from Cambridge UK, invented the network theory that is now known in its Internet manifestation as Page Rank
What he described is a formula for ordering the importance of nodes (vertices) in a network not just based upon the volume of links (connections) between them (the method defined in topological theory), but defining the node as being a product of the power of the links that are linking to it!
ring any bells?
The power assigned to each link is derived by carrying out multi-variate analysis over the attributes that each node posseses (Googles so called 200+ variable PR dataset colected by spiders!)
OK this is the underlying Maths that Google CANNOT change!
GOOGLE did not invent this! They just applied it to cyberspatial objects!
In 1978 a young geographer from the University of Wales in Swansea took Kansky's Theorem of Nodal Magnitude to the next level by adding a concept of nodal inheritance, and if you care to visit the Earth Sciences Library building in Swansea University, you will find deep in the dust covered canyons of forgotten student dissertations, formulas and a conceptual framework for quantifying the nodal order of any network! . It's located (or used to be) just a stones throw from one of the oldest nodes on the Internet - The computer building that was part of the JANET network and housed this massive mainframe Hitachi or ICL mainframe computer the size of a condominium! Anyway I digress..
The second lie
Think on this!
I have a site that is No.1 on Google for whatever keyword or set of keywords
The reason it is No 1 is because it has 100,000+ links from a variety of Authority sites (Authority sites are sites that are ranked in the higher quartile once you apply Kanskys theorum).
Think on this
What do you think would happen if I owned all those authority sites and overnight I removed the 100000+ links?
ITS ALL LIES GOOGLE!
You heard from the worlds leading and probably one of the oldest authorities on Spatial analysis right here at THE SYSTEM.
Comments from current Geography Students, Mathmeticians and epidemiologists are more than welcome! PM.
RSS has become the global de-facto standard for online content syndication.
Every page you create or web 2.0 property or object should provide an RSS feed with the exact content you want to syndicate - your link!
RSS feeds allow many web 2.0 websites owners a simple way to consume your RSS feed and display its contents on their websites.
Every time you update your RSS feed, for example when adding a blog story, the content on your syndication partners' websites is updated too. If you're syndicating content to a thousand other websites and web 2.0 properties you have created for vthis very purpose, all of them will receive the same updated version at the same time you update your RSS feed. Easy, simple, cheap and streamlined. more importantly - you get heard! and you get links you've created, every time someone takes your feed.
BIG TIP! - why not make web2.0 properties from your own feeds?
MASH IT UP and avoid duplicate content penalties!
And because this is a standard there are now countless online web properties and RSS tools available to make this process straightforward for even the newest marketer.
Your Money Page Should Be a black hole - Using rel ="nofollow" tag correctly
If you have created a sales funnel for a particular keyword and gone into all the marketing effort of articles, PR, bookmarking, directory submssions, video etc and all the other things we teach at The System as part of a holistic marketing mix then.....
Wouldn't it be a bit daft not just to give search engine bots, but also your potential customers an exit route away from the sale?
Well believe it or not so many many of our clients do not fully understand the relevence of Page Rank Black Hole Theory
Which Is...
There should be no exit points other than your sales application link - nowhere! for all that lovely traffic, page rank and juice of authority that a correctly constructed web 2.0 sales funnel will bring!
Moreover, your whole site should be a 'black hole' - nothing gets out alive in the way of link love! that isn't to say that you shouldn't link out, but be a good Google webmaster and follow the guidelines and use a rel ="nofollow" tag!
The art to establishing your site as an authority is not to link PR unnecessarily to others.
Beware of sneaky web designers who if they have got their link on every page are SAPPING your PR!
By all means allow them some publicity but make all links that do not go to your money page rel ="nofollow". That way only people truly interested in web design will leave the site and leave their PR and Bounce behind!
Seal all your website leaks and watch your rankings rise -especially if you are just struggling to get on the first page!
It's really simple syndication but it really seems to scare people away! An RSS file is just an XML file available for copying.
RSS is an integral part of Search Engine Marketing these days and it is imperative that you have feeds from your website or content you've created for web 2.0 properties.
RSS allows others out there, good and bad, to grab your content for their own purposes.
RSS allows and encourages and some advanced techniques for viral spread, so it is imperative that you have links back to your money pages in the first sentence or two of the RSS feed as this is often the only part of the feed displayed.
More importantly RSS allows you to create new web 2.0 properties, and therefore new authority links! without having to rewrite and redistribute the content each time it changes, and without incurring Google duplicate content penalties!
More about how to really take advantage of RSS in the mewmbers section soon!
Matt Cutts Googles self appointed mouthpiece talks about the necessity of links in getting new content indexed.
What can you learn from this?
Get as many links as you can from authority sites that are spidered very frequently. Court sites that Google loves! Create Buzz around your new page by blogging etc!
TIP - check the google cache page for your website to see when it was last spidered
The great thing about blogging on the Internet is that when you think of something to say or even when you can't think of anything to say, if you hunt around on Google you'll invariably find that there's someone out there with similar ideas.
Ever since I started to see my Twitter posts appearing on the top fifty SERPs for some very competitive keywords I've been discovering new ways of posting to one's competitiive advantage. Some of the major players in the Internet Marketing league are getting ready at this very moment to launch some very interesting twitter manipulation courses - like it or loath it Twitter is the hotttest thing on the net, it's news in realtime and as it is only in it's very early stages of evolution, Twitter is just right for SEM and IM.
Here's the systems take on it and we are fledglings.
It seems to us that the power of Twitter lies in controlling the buzz. Twitter is the buzz ball or hive that Google feeds on for the latest 'buzz', be it information or validation of existing information.
We have noticed these and you're welcome to contribute more but theres three basic ways of maximising this knowledge to sap royal jelly from the Queen Bee Google:
1. Create the Buzz youself
2. Contribute to the Buzz
3. Feed off the Buzz
Here's a 5 step method of approach for link building and buzz creation on Twitter:
1. Do Twitter searches on the keywords you want to create the buzz about.
2. Analyse the posting patterns. What is the posting frequency? This is most important if you want to dominate a keyword. To do this you need at least three posts on the front page continually, and if possible creating A CONVERSATION.
If there are only ten posts per week on your particular keyword, fine you only need to post once a week. some keywords like 'music' change twice per second - avoid these and go for the 'long tail'. you'll get extra longevity in the twitter buzz that Google feeds off.
3. Drop the RSS for your particular Twitter keyword all over the place in self made Wikis etc!! - use The System.
4. Bookmark and Ping all these wikis - Bingo - front page of google guaranteed if you keep the buzz up!
If you analyse the hundreds of comments and blogs on the subject out there, there are possibly two lessons to learn from this mini whirlwind of SEO furore.
There is no content distribution (paid or otherwise) slap!
When a site as big as GoCompare.com changes it's structure in a large way it's rankings are affected for a few days.
OR
Google was playing games to see your reaction!
I'm not going to cancel all those poor paying affiliate schemes I set up last week in the hope of earning a few quid by ranking high for their keyword (not), but a few savvy SEO'rs made a big storm in a teacup over a small event and a few lucky ones picked up all that juicy keyword traffic for a few days!
So Who'se Next?
My money is on the moneysupermarket - they've got to either rebrand or get a mini slap sooner or later.....see you at the top of Google!
Do you want a whole lot of authority site backlinks for free?
Well if you've been following The System you will know that video syndication is the quickest and easiest way to get thousands of qualified authority backlinks to your moneysite.
But what if you are a writer who has great standing on Article Authority sites like ezinearticles.com but who doesn't know one end of a video camera from another?
Well don't panic , thanks to a great new tool called Article video Robot you can now turn your articles into videos for viral distribution at the flick of a mouse click, without ever having to go near a video camera.
This simple but complicated piece of software sucks in your articles or any other text document you care to feed it with and creates a talking video of your article!
You can change the voices and add background music and pictures of your own and your article comes to life! You can take any piece of text and create a video without ever coming out of the application or going near a camera or video editing software package.
It's virtually idiot proof and creates videos that you can distrbute using its own built in syndicator or by downloading and publishing through Traffic Geyser!
the System thinks this piece of software is Brilliant if a little rough around the edges it gives article writers the power of the camera.
Watch the Traffic Rise and sales soar!
Perhaps the most important SEM and IM tool of 2009!
Content is still King. in Fact, content is Emperor of Google! Good Content will always enable you to Beat The System.
So have you got good content? Are you No1. on Google for your chosen keywords?
You Are! Good then don't waste your time reading this, keep up the effort to keep your site at the top because remember, there's always A NASTY LITTLE seo'R snapping away at your rankings. If there's enough bad boys who get banned after a few days doing it, this can be serious hard work staying on top for competitive keywords!
So your not at the top of google and you think you've got good content, you think you've got unique good quality content and your site should be at the top of Google above all that other spammy rubbish!
Yeah?
Yeah you and a million others!!!!
The answer to all your wasted effort in building such a good website and excellent content and not being 'treated fairly' by Google is so obvious it's staring you in the face.
The good news is that you are one step ahead of those million others, just by reading this article and acting upon it you have given yourself perhaps the greatest thing you've ever wished to acheive in you IM career, a chance of it happening.
Here's the answer - DO NOT TELL EVERYONE!
Content is King period. where the vast majority of people go wrong is in two ways:-
1. They think that this means that their website ( or sales page) has to have fantastic content offering a unique selling proposition that no other sneaky competitior has.
2. they think that if the go and write 200 articles on Ezinearticles.com that this will give them a chance of getting ranked
WRONG & WRONG.
Content is still king but the whole point of having good content is to get it spread about on the web in as many places as possible.
Most people create all this content and then do nothing with it, except just stick it on a website. This sort of content is static and will give you one link or if you are really lucky and few from a few kind hearted souls.
What a waste of Time
The System shows you how to virally spread your content far and wide in the most efficient and search engine friendly practices there are. The system shows you how to syndicate yours and others content for your own Link Juice Generator.
All content is valuable for automatic backward link generation.
Watch this Video from our friends at Traffic Geyser which explains the need to distribute content virally to get thousands of free back links. Here's a glimpse of what amounts to perhaps 5 to 10 % of the effort needed to crack a keyword such as mortgages:-

Are paid links bad for your pocket ? Google Adwords is!
There's been a lot of rubbish talked across the net in recent week by the followers of SEO forums and Google watchers about the negative value of paid links. This has come about due to the hypocrite denizens at Googly stating that paid links violate their quality guidelines.
Quality guidelines? What a joke! after all Google wouldn't exist today without the paid link model. Do they think that Adwords links are quality? Obviously not if you and me are not allowed to follow their example of earning from our websites.
To cap it all they think that the global definition of who should link to who and on what basis should be defined by them. They've even invented their own (rel="nofollow") tag that you , the web creator, are supposed to use to indicate to Google search bots that the link is paid. Yes Google, don't follow this link because I got paid for putting it up there, just like you did!
What a joke! Like all the millions of people out there with websites and no knowledge of googles 'best practices' are going to get deindexed because they're selling links to someone who emailed them asking to pay.
So just what is Google trying to say?
That paid links are bad? That paid links are poor quality? That you are not allowed to earn from your website and have a place in our index?
What a load of Bull from the world's largest purveyor of paid links - incidently we've never bought links off of Google and strongly advise you not to do the same. PPC campaigns are the biggest rip-off ever invented (which Google didn't but was very quick to buy into), and a drain on most marketing department budgets around thne world, with very poor ROI except for the few that dominate big keywords with their buying power.
So should you buy links?
The straightforward answer to that is......
You don't have to. It is very easy to create links on many sites favoured by Google using content distribution held on third party platforms throughout the world of social media sites.
In other words create your own.....
Create you own mini networks and link these to one another. Link all your content on third party platforms to itself and your money site.
Many webmasters are using Google's nofollow tag to keep control on how Google passes PR, keeping all the link juice within their own mini black-hole sites (no outbound links), or to deindex non-money pages on their sites by pointing all the PR juice at the pages that people buy from.
Perfectly legitimate use of a stupid tag invented by Google that has done more harm than good in weedling out paid links.
At the end of the day trying to discount paid links is as stupid as having a ranking system based on links which can and always will be manipulated, and not on quality scores for individual pages which are not weighted by the number of links that an individual or group can create to a node.
Oh yeah Google didn't anyone tell you that Page Rank is DEAD - both as a concept and as the little green bar full of disinformation that Google puts out.
Remember the Internet is just a collection of content stepping stones with links between them. Without links there is no NET.
Should we really let Google decide the shape and syntax of the net?
Especially when virtually every page of top ten results that Google serves up, particularly in Financial Services, show sites that all indulge in massive link buying campaigns, whether its from Google or Yahoo or Digital point blogs or whoever! Truth of the matter is, the no follow tag and Google Webmaster guidelines has just led to an explosion of interest in SEO from newbies trying to out rank each other.
The big boys and Google have it all sewn up for the money keywords - now that's equitable and quality - NOT!
Get Real Google and focus on valuable CONTENT!
Follow The System - create links and buy links from relevant sites including directories. Relevancy is the only measure that will count in the long term!
So who the hell is Matt Cutts? I hear the newbies ask.
Well he's the self proclaimed mouthpiece for Google - it appears.
Does he work for Google? This used to be a question on all the blogs and forums five or so years ago. By the look of the fact he's posting on the Google YouTube webpage these days it looks like he does, and whoever he works for he's certainly got better at YouTube videos over the years since he first started putting out Google expectations of webmaster behaviour via the site and his weblog, with his pussies on his rather larger lap!
One thing concerns me though looking at the history of his youtube offerings, is the shabby productions. Maybe that's cool in California or Florida or wherever - still are they really up to the sort of production you'd expect from Google...hmm
Here's a very useful recent example
MATT CUTTS ON MAXIMISING & FUNNELLING DOMAIN NAME PAGE RANK
So what do we know about him.
Years ago we believe he used to post on all the forums as Googleboy and none of the SEO community of the day knew who he was for a short while. He was a bit of a lurker around the Webmaster forums, learning what the drivers of the search engine algos were, that is, the SEO community of the days, were up to.
Listening to, funnily enough 'the buzz' that Google is shouting about as being so important in the current marketing effort. Once he was outed he started his blog and posting lots of videos and hungry webmasters crawled over his every word. He then became the self proclaimed spam site killer and webmaster witchfinder general.
These days he's a lot thinner and more open about the way google works. He advises you to sign up to googles webmaster tools and analytics.
Be careful how you use Google Webtools and Analytics - especially is you are practising multilevel Social Media marketing.
Google used to vehemently state that the Adsense / Adwords data was seperate from the SERPS algo data and in no way influenced the SERPS
Who are they trying to kid? you've only got to look at a term such as car insurance and wonder why the sites that dominate page one are where they are? It's because the have the largest ADWORDS spend!! Apply this to you giving them info about your site. Well for one thing it tells them that you are engaged in SEO - is that a good thing?
Anyway back to Cutts. He's no great marketing guru but he's a good sounding board as to what Google thinks important and where they are taking measures - which if you are savvy you can exploit.
Is Matt Cutts For real - yeah sort of, you should for instance take a very good look at the way he talks about the LINK element in the above video.
Tip - Many top ranking sites are using a version of this to point search engines to their rss or blog pages as an alternative homepage and effectively getting their tired old website listed as a blog!
But to us he has always been just a ploy to leverage feedback from the real gurus, to make sure that Googles control mechanisms are functioning in the right areas and the cleverer webmasters, checked back.
Sure enough the Internet is becoming more open and you are encouraged to participate and get involved either interactively or engagement through content.
Ever since the days of the caveman Man has had this urge to scribble on walls.
Looking at the drawings on the walls at Lascaux gives you a perspective about graffitti which has moved into the future to exist everywhere as a means of cyber engagement
Vote, Comment, feedback, forums, youtube etc etc have all been a great platform for the way of dropping or in street speak 'tagging' and leaving your mark.
Or if you're cleverer your link.
Theres a right and wrong way about going about this though and you will be doing no more damage to yourselves than wasting your time if you do it the 'wrong way'
Commenting link spam is a waste of everyone's time. At the other end of the acceptable behaviour spectrum and actively encouraged is positve contribution and extension of what the topic is through getting engaged with the website.
It's the difference between going around spraying your tag on everything you pass within your territory, to some of the works of art graffitti that you used to find on the sides of buildings and subways around the globe.
And its this end of the spectrum the The System expects every marketeer to engage with.
Find blogs, articles etc that are on theme to whatever you are selling - you can do this by searching google and checking universal results for your competitive keywords.
Make positive or negative comments of debate about the subject which should be one with which yopu are familiar and have an opinion... Try to spark debate!
Once you've got links from respectable blogs etc back to your money site - you should post bookmarks and ping RSS feeds for the article/blog that includes your comment with your link to spread the free links virally.
How to steal PR from Authority Websites - legally!
Don't think you've got Authority!
So how do you get authority for your website?
Well we touched upon this in previous posts and the simplest solution is to get lots of Authority sites linking to you. To do this successfully and to take advantage of the types of authority site outlined in the post Authority Sites.
You will also need to invest in automated tools that conform to good submission principles.
More importantly you will need to think out of the box.
Here's an example blueprint for taking authority from an authority site, and channelling it to become a larger authority than the original authority site.
This can be done for commercial sites in any niche, however for this example we are going to a commercial niche product and a .org charity site.
OK lets assume you are selling Pet Insurance - thats a pretty competitive keyword that returns around 12 million pages indexed in Google.
IN ORDER TO GET LINKS FROM AN AUTHORITY SITE YOU NEED TO THINK WIN - WIN!!
1. Check out all the National animal charites that you can think of and see if they have local website. 2. Take say Cats Protection and go along to your local branch and offer to make them a website for free. 3. Set them up a website using a great generic domain name and blog software so they can easily post and update it and you avoid any maintainance problems. You could also set up a catchall email for them. 4. Make an interesting blogroll for them on te hsite with links to the national organisations and other interesting charities and sites that they might suggest etc. Be sure to include a nice pet insurance link to your money site within the blogroll.
TIP - make sure you use the tag rel="nofollow" for all links apart from the link to your moneysite! This way all Page Rank is channelled to your site!
SPARK IT UP!
5. Get them to email the national organisation requesting a link to the local website! (or do it yourself using a catchall email - they won't know!)
BINGO you've got a PR6 page linking to a new page linking to established websites (including your moneysite).
BUILD UP MORE AUTHORITY FOR THE INTERMEDIATE NEW CATS PROTECTION WEBSITE!
6. Post the new website location to forums, blogs, articles etc using the keyword Cats Protection. Make some cutie kitty videos and post with your link and the Cats protection link. Bookmark the website like mad using automated tools. (See Labels) Spread the RSS about!
RINSE AND REPEAT FOR CATS PROTECION IN THE NEXT TOWN! - Dominate the Market! Interlink as many cats protection sites as you can build for people around the country if you need to build a mini network (See Labels) Make sure you get links from the central Charity to each new website. Use a template to save yourself loads of time when building new sites.
To everyone on the outside you appear to be a generous cat philanphropist! It's a win-win thing!!
Lesson One in becoming a magician, never be what you appear to be! You must fly over or under the radar!
We bet you've often been told to get as many one way inbound links as possible from authority sites - and whoever told you was right, but do you really know what an authority site is, and even if you think you do then ask yourself the question 'Am I really going to get links from these great authority sites?' Be honest are you? Why would Wikipedia give your website an entry? What about bbc.co.uk ? Not much chance really is there?
Well if you believe the above you are oh so totally on the wrong track.
The System believes that where there's a wall there's a way.
Here's our take on authority sites, you need to apply this vision to your own niche area of Internet Marketing to open up doors you thought were hurdles to your marketing development view.
What is authority? Authority is trust. Trust is established over time. Authority is content. Content that can be trusted. Authority is respect. Respect has to be earned. Authority is radical. Ideas and content continually flow and grow. Authority is backward links. In many cases this may be the case however you can guarantee the website employing this tactic has a lot to say about the subject and can be deemed to be an authority. Authority is connectivity and visibility. Web 2.0 has dramatically changed the way that search engine marketing engineers such as ourselves, can manipulate the SERPs.
So what have you learnt from the above? How old is a website / domain name? Content is King so how good is yours? Authority sites that link to you are valuable as a mark of respect, how many respect you? Is your content interesting, informed, new, up to date? Try Blogging and Video to deliver the message. Do you have enough backward links? Keep reading The System for simple effective solutions to this one!
When was it invented? To our eyes authority has always been around and really nothings changed that much since Tim Berners Lee invented the hypertext transfer protocol in 1993. In fact Authority sites existed on the Internet way before the invention of the WWW. Stepping back in time, the few first hop diallup ISPs that provided everything such as Compuserve and later AOL were early examples of authority through agglomeration. Going back further you'll find massive authority sites on USENET and many other little known comms protocol mini-networks that have been buzzing out there since time immemorial (in cyber terms!). You'll always hear the Americans exclaim the value of links from .EDU's (.ac.uk) or .GOVs (.gov.uk) or .ORGs. Well there's a very good reason for this, but you have to step back even further in time to the creation of the objects that now form the backbone (ultimate authority) of the present day Internet to understand this god given authority. The current Internet is an evolution out of the academic backbones that have connected all the Universities with mainframes since the late 1950's. These days its coupled with the simultaneously evolved military structure originally called ARPANET to provide a bomb proof - message always delivered supernet structure. Hence the power of the .GOV. (We have some tools that let you see how your website sits in 3D internet linkage terms - it'll make you want to up your campains!! Keep reading )
So looking out for authority sites always look at the domain to help evaluate its perceived authority.
Identifying Authority sites The simplest thing to do is to type your most desirable keyword into the Open Directory and look at the results. These are some of the highest authorites for that keyword and have a long term good relationship with both the hand edited DMOZ and Google which has always populated its directory from here.
Common types of sites that automatically carry some authority on a keyword or set of words:
Hubs social networks directories article hubs video hubs bookmarking hubs niche market directories and review sites specialised websites and networks blogs webpages webpage object e.g. a video or document
Anyway that's enough for today - look out for the next post on Authority Sites when we'll explain to you how easy it is to identify authorities that you haven't even thought of yet, and how easy it is to get them to link to you!
