SEO GoogleTesting reveals Social Bookmarking & Blog spam gives Top SERPS!

Just to let you know that The System has noticed while testing that Google SERPS are currently definitely favouring Wisdom of crowds and noise results, such as social bookmarking and blog spam.

I've today seen some bookmarking tag pages show up on the first page of Google for highly competitive keywords - clipmark seems to be in favour at the moment - personally I think its probably due to the enormous amount of people using automated social bookmarking tools.

It'll be interesting to see how long the spam lasts for .... the problem is one wave of spammers is constantly followed by another....it's the wisdom of the cheap Indian labour force... and there are a billion of them!!

Keep bookmarking

Tagging and Keyword Classification from a computers point of view

Here's a very interesting old post that I want you to read about how Internet users decide to tag pages and the consequent new folksonomy or categorisation of computer data, that has grown up around it.

What it demonstrates from a marketing point of view, is that the most used search terms must equal the most tagged page with that term - folksonomy therefore depends upon the wisdom of the crowd! (which of course can be manipulated!)

Heres the post - Tagging and Naming as a new language

Social Bookmarking is the wisdom of the crowd - or the bookmark generation

Yesterday we showed you how set theory and the principles of the wisdom of the crowd are incorporated into Googles algorithm as a generalised statement of the truth or if you like, quality index. See Set theory and Google Pagerank

Today I am going to give you an example of how this works in practice and how the impact of the principle affects the search results of Google.

The example I am going to use to demonstrate this in action is that of Social Bookmarking.

Social Bookmarking is the act of one individual voting for a website, by placing a link in a voting centre hub, aka a social bookmarking site. This act alone provides no effect upon the total population of votes for websites held on that hub and is an insignificant gesture.

Did Google listen? You bet because it hangs around social media Social Bookmarking sites all day and night looking for buzz so that it can calculate rankings based upon the wisdom of the crowd. Bingo you might even get that link indexed in Google!

The problem is this...

There are 500 on theme links on Delicious for the keyword 'whatever'

Your main competitor has 200 links from different accounts (most Social Bookmarking sites do not allow you to or discount, multiple same url post) and the rest are divided up here and there.
You have 1.

The wisdom of crowds will be applied proportionally and you are way out of game with your competitors!

So what can you do to compete?

Get more accounts with different Social Bookmarking sites?

Sure great idea, lets have a look at this.

So you set up sites at five (or more) different Social Bookmarking hubs, as shown in the diagram below:

the law of large numbers and social bookmarking

Now if you look at this diagram you will immediately see (if you read our post about optimal network linking structures and pagerank, that you have created a perfect hub - cool!

Did Google listen? You bet because it hangs around social media Social Bookmarking sites all day and night looking for buzz so that it can calculate rankings based upon the wisdom of the crowd. Bingo you might even get those 5 links indexed in Google!

If your competitor is doing the same he probably just got another 1000!

So you are beginning to see the problem!

It's the underlying mathematical principle upon which the logic of the wisdom of truth sits. In fact it also underlies every possible statistical analysis technique and its called....

Bernoulli's Law of Large Numbers (LLN)

Call it what you want , the cream always floats to the top, the vox populi, the wisdom of the crowds - they are all founded uopn the principle of the LLN.

The LLN states that if the size of a given set or population satisfies the law then the mean or average can be trusted to be a perfect 'truth'. The law is satisfied when the mean or average result for a set of tests (search queries) stays constant.

That is, the result can be seen as constant if, you keep adding proportionally to the set and it makes no difference to the Average result or a large standard deviation either side of it!.

(In serps terms that means consistently at No.1 in Google determined by the number of links, the result being over time, conversation domination as Howie Schwartz puts it - competitor shut out)

The LLN is important because it "guarantees" stable long-term results for random events.

The LLN introduces the concept of the effect of time on link building and authority. This is why older websites have natural rank and authority.

It is the LLN that is responsible for the 'sandbox effect' when you first start linkbuilding!

It's the LLN that gives sites their topological nodal authority! (Link nodal order)

The LLN also proves the theory that you must drip feed Google good quality content from high Kanskian quartile authority sites (with links) on a long term basis to retain your SERPS ORDER, or as Howie puts it... continuity....

It is this law combined with the principles of the wisdom of crowds that we use as the solution for our online ranking problems, and to shoot down and shut out the opposition....... before they do it to you!

It's the LLN that allows you to promise your SEO clients long term ranking success!

So here is the law of large numbers in action in the Social bookmarking world.

the law of large numbers and social bookmarking

So you see that the only way to become 'the voice of the crowd' is to own multiple accounts at every conceivable social bookmarking hub that Google feeds at.

Is this ethical? Sure hell it is! If you don't do it your competitors will.
Haven't you learn't yet, Internet Marketing is war!

Won't this get my site banned from Google?
Why, because some of the best web 2.0 properties are voting for you with massive link love?
Google can only assimilate what it finds.
If delicious says its worth PR5 of its considerable juice then thats what it is worth.
You might get an account zapped by delicious but thats the risk you run.
If you have done your job properly according to the Law of Large Numbers this will not affect your rank one iota!. It's not up to google to police the output of other nodes! As long as people (traffic) are voting for that site by visiting it - so will google.

Google might change the rules and zap say delicious!

So what !
It doesn't change the law of large numbers just because a large set got zapped! As long as you are present in every set!

OK so dominating the wisdom of the crowd for top ranking keywords is a lot of work right?

The only way to do it is to either outsource the work or use automated social bookmarking tools or both!

There is only one tool as far as I am concerned that is up to the job and is constantly updated and includes some priceless bonus tools that you just can't get anywhere else ......and that is Bookmark Generation, owned and developed exclusively for the reformed king of the black hatters- Mr Howie Schwartz of Norwalk Conneticut.

Howies tool allows you to add every link you want bookmarked to all the best google feeding bookmarking hubs...which are constantly changing from what I can see since I've subscribed to this 'project' from day one. It's totally under the radar and allows you to set up projects to be released with mashed up keywords and decriptions and posting times and number of posts etcetc....in other words it leaves no logical posting pattern!

He's just updated it to Bookmark Generation 2.0 (geddit) and it's now white hot as he's added in this bonus tool from his black hat laboratory which is brand new and a killer web 2.0 analysis tool.

here's what it produces

This shows you what web 2.0 properties are passing the most link juice for your particular keywords and therefore where to 'create yor perfect hubs'

Thats all for now folks, hope this helps - the rest you will have to purchase - its deadly!"

The System is coming soon.
You can't learn this stuff anywhere else!
The system uses mathematic principles and analytic techniques taken from the disciplines of Geography, Economics, Sociology, Epidemiology and Computer Science to reverse engineer the Google Algorithm. The system uses network analysis and web 2.0 properties to construct an optimal link network for keyword ranking domination of Google.

Using Twitter for link building and Buzz

The great thing about blogging on the Internet is that when you think of something to say or even when you can't think of anything to say, if you hunt around on Google you'll invariably find that there's someone out there with similar ideas.

Ever since I started to see my Twitter posts appearing on the top fifty SERPs for some very competitive keywords I've been discovering new ways of posting to one's competitiive advantage. Some of the major players in the Internet Marketing league are getting ready at this very moment to launch some very interesting twitter manipulation courses - like it or loath it Twitter is the hotttest thing on the net, it's news in realtime and as it is only in it's very early stages of evolution, Twitter is just right for SEM and IM.

Here's the systems take on it and we are fledglings.

It seems to us that the power of Twitter lies in controlling the buzz. Twitter is the buzz ball or hive that Google feeds on for the latest 'buzz', be it information or validation of existing information.

We have noticed these and you're welcome to contribute more but theres three basic ways of maximising this knowledge to sap royal jelly from the Queen Bee Google:

1. Create the Buzz youself

2. Contribute to the Buzz

3. Feed off the Buzz

Here's a 5 step method of approach for link building and buzz creation on Twitter:

1. Do Twitter searches on the keywords you want to create the buzz about.

2. Analyse the posting patterns. What is the posting frequency? This is most important if you want to dominate a keyword. To do this you need at least three posts on the front page continually, and if possible creating A CONVERSATION.

If there are only ten posts per week on your particular keyword, fine you only need to post once a week. some keywords like 'music' change twice per second - avoid these and go for the 'long tail'. you'll get extra longevity in the twitter buzz that Google feeds off.

3. Drop the RSS for your particular Twitter keyword all over the place in self made Wikis etc!! - use The System.

4. Bookmark and Ping all these wikis - Bingo - front page of google guaranteed if you keep the buzz up!

5. Read more about Twitter From Expert Steve Rubel's blog The Next Twitter or Facebook is the Open Web
